I've been trying to find out more information on PH armies. There is lots writen about the PH space marines but not alot on other forces, particularly PH Imperial armies. Below are the first 3 soldiers of my Prospero Spire Guard to fight along side my Thousand Sons and since the photo i've now got a 10 man squad.

I make sure to use 80's or 90's citadel weapons for most of my models to make them appear from another time but other than look at the "John blanch" artwork and just use Vostroyans im abit stuck.

So I really want to pick every ones brain to see if anyone has other ideas for PH armies, human or alien.

the above post is a great place to start.

as for PH IG one of the main diffences l have read is they used Gav tanks smilar to eldar but now they no longer do the ref for this is in the old IG codexs and in one of the novles.

so an eldar/IG tank will stand out in your army but will be pettey hard to make.

Vostroyan are a great model to use
I think steel legion are good too.
Get yourself the Horus heresy collected visions
Unification Wars Mk1
Early Crusade up to Ullanor MK2-3
Crusade with Horus as Warmaster Mk4 (But these came out probally around Ullanor)
Fall of Horus up to the seige Mk5
Seige of Terra MK6 (Imperial Fists,White Scars,Blood Angels)

None are a 100% rule but a good place to start
