After reading the tau stealth suit thread, I realized we have a good bevy of tau players here. I play against a tau who touts his JSJ like there was no tomorrow. I generally do a rhino rush charging up the other side of the field and get into CC with his fire warriors and try to beat him that way (it has worked 6/7 games ) but what are some good ways to deter or defeat his annoying JSJ with Crisis and Stealth Suits?

Quite simply, IG indirect fire. But since most armies don't have access, its just a matter of being more mobile than the jump suits.

With my Eldar, the Serpents and Bikes ensure that there is no where for the Suits to hide. With Chaos, Deepstrikers keep his hidey-holes in view.

Really, the only problem army is a static one. If you have any decent mobility, you have a way to neutralize the JSJ.

Your primary way of dealing with JSJ is to use either a fast unit (Assault Marines) to drive them away from their cover, or use a hammer and anvil tactic to deny them the cover to hide behind. Planting a Dev Squad looking alone one side of the cover and then sending things like Bikes or a Tac Squad to the other side will deny them the use of that terrain peice and force them to retreat or get caught. Land Raiders or Deep Striking Terminators can do the same thing, if you can hide them from the Railguns that will be seeking them out.

Indeed. Outrun, outmaneuver or, if you can, outrange them. Most J/S/J units have relatively short ranges (Missile pods aside) if you can pull back, they've eventually either got to break cover or just sit back and not do anything.

But that's not really the best tactic, since Tau like being at arm's length. Much better to either catch them between two units or simply run them over, as others have said.

assault is the main nemesis for tau, so anything fast enough to get past the guns is at the top of the list. Bikes jumppacks deepstrike and infiltrate are prime candidates

Its all about mobility. Fast tanks, fast assault troops, deep strikers etc. Use your mobility to ensure that they have nowhere to go. Either that or indirect firepower.

Back them into a corner so that they can't contest objectives yet can't hit you back, pincer them so that they can't jump anywhere without being shot or assaulted. Once the Crisis suits can't hide they're toast.

What he said. TBH Deepstrike is golden vs Tau. An assault squad deepstruck into cover that Tau are hiding behind will potentially ruin their day. First you shoot them & stand a good chance of breaking anything you do shoot at, then in the next turn you assault something (you being quicker than Tau will mean they cannot get away)
