I'm going to be playing a casual tournament with a bunch of friends tomorrow. I was going to bring a fairly standard Zerk based list but have decided that taking a list like that would be lame. So, I'd like some feedback on two lists that are deviations from my standard list which is chilling toward the bottom.

AWESOME LIST #1:

Daemon Prince w/ Wings, MoT, Warptime, Bolt of Change
Daemon Prince w/ Wings, MoS, LoS

Summoned Greater Daemon

3x Termies w/ Champ, 1x CF, 1x HF, 2x Combi-Melta, IoS

5x Plague Marines w/ Champ, 2x Plasma, Rhino, PI
5x Plague Marines w/ Champ, 2x Plasma, Rhino, PI
5x Plague Marines w/ Champ, 2x Plasma, Rhino, PI

2x Oblits
2x Oblits

1500 Points

Obviously, the point of this list to to provide a solid core (Oblits + PM) while using the Termies to suicide tanks and the three MCs to beat face

AWESOME LIST #2:

Daemon Prince w/ Wings, WT, MoN
Sorcerer w/ T.Armor, MoS, LoS

9x Termies w/ (9)Champs, 3x PF, 2x CH, 3x Combi-Plas, 4x Combi-Melta, 2x HF, IoT

Chosen w/ 2x Melta, 2x Flamer, IoCG
Chosen w/ 2x Melta, 2x Flamer, IoCG

6x CSM w/ 1x Melta, Rhino, IoCG
5x CSM w/ 1x Melta, Rhino, IoCG

I think this one is fairly self-explanatory as well. Use the icons to Deep Strike 9 Termies and the Sorcerer while harassing with the DP.

This is a standard list I play.

I'm not looking for most competitive, rather, most fun/biggest challenge.

i'd take a modified list # two. i HATE MSU style. so what i'd do is drop the prince, and the chosen, add to your CSM units, get another unit if possible and then add to the oblits.

10 tzeentched terminators is hellasious enough, and since your playing with friends I'd assume you want them to still be friends in the morning lol!

The only reason I had the Princes in the list is to stall until my Termies land. Same with Chosen...I'm hoping that high(ish) threat units up front may help the rest of my army get there.

well don't see how any of the lists are completely different but they are standard lists to go around the web.

But out of all the lists I would go with the first one. Consider dropping the summoned greater daemon. your champs are a little to valuable to just go wasting. if you had a normal marine squad with a champ then keep him. with the 100 points i would drop the cf to a pf on the termies and get another unit of 3 termies all with combi meltas. they make up there points really quick

I have run something like your second list and it got destroyed fast. Five man squads just get destroyed. While your major player is your Termis they are going to have some problems.
I am a big fan of your Awesome List 1. I would pull out the Bolt of Change on your one DP. I would also pull out the Termis and spend the rest of the points adding a few more PMs. Maybe run all the squads as meltas. See if in one or two of the squads the champ can have a PF. This way one of your champs is still cheap enough for a sacrifice to the Greater. Remember, to run the Lash Prince behind the Rhino with the champ you are going to sacrifice. This gives the Greater an average 15" threat with a DP backing him up. Oh, Yeah.

So, tourney didn't happen but I did get to play three games, all of which I won.

I played with List #1 against Necron, Daemons and CSM. Phased Necron out, tabled Daemons and beat CSM in kill points.

Turns out list #1 was pretty effective.

Hmm.. I don't know what to say, but on list #2; Your relying on the Terminators far too much.

If this was C:SM, you could happily let some termies roam around.. but Chaos Termies don't take alot to get rid of.. Wouldn't take a genius to avoid them either, and just keep shooting with mass bolter-fire.

Hate to say it, But the best C:CSM list is lash prince. You're gonna have to learn to accept that, if you plan on entering tournaments :\

But if it's just for a joke; I'd say list #2, for the fun of it.

However, I am VERY, VERY, VERY, surprised you won with List #1, But don't necessarily take that as it being a good list.

Your probably just a very competent general.

Really? I found the Lash Prince, Tzeentch Prince to be an excellent combo and I did have 6 Plasma guns and 2 TL Plasma guns/2 Plasma cannons. I do agree though, when I looked at it the first time I was skeptical. If you get a chance, would you test it? I'd love to hear your thoughts on how it plays.
