No, there are plenty of people who do that. I make a point of finishing what I start, whether it be for Warhammer or anything else, but I know I'm an oddball for it.
Amen to that. I hate having unfinished things. As far as painting an army goes, once I get to around 2000 points painted I start to slow down. I like to add new things to make it 2500 points, but slowly as after 2000 points is painted I usually start a brand new army (I hae 6 so far).
I have 3 1/2 painted armies and I've just started two new ones...kinda.
My marines have 2000 points painted. As soon as I get the last 6 man squad, their Razorback, a LST, and a Rhino painted I'll be at 2500.
My Eldar are one warlock and one ranger away from 2500 points painted.
My Chaos has about 3000 points painted but still needs 5 bike riders painted, 4 juggernaut riders painted, and 5 possessed converted and painted.
My Tyranids have about 1500 points painted. I am still struggling with their strategy and build. I don't want to start painting models I'm not going to use. That's how I have two Zoanthropes painted. The models are cool, but their rules suck. I have one lictor painted and am torn between painting another or not using them at all.
My two new armies are my wifes SOB army and my Deathwing. The SOB are just another SOB army and have a lot of detail. The deathwing is a labor of love as I am taking the time to convert every model and paint a lot of extra details on them. Both land raiders will have murals on them. The Terminators will have scroll work painted on them. It's going to be intense.
