Re-read your codex. The Imperial Assassin entry quite clearly deals with this.
Allied Daemonhunters/Witchhunters question
Okay, so lets say I have an army made up of allied Daemonhunters and Witchhunters. The WH are the allies, and the DH are the core force.
Can I take two assassins? Since they're in both dexes, and WH allies can take 1 elites choice, it seems like I could. I'd be filling the 0-1 hole in the DH dex and the 0-1 hole in the WH dex.
