Tzeentch has a nasty super heavy called the silver tower of tzeentch and a datasheet called thousand sons warcoven. Both are nasty and can do alot of damage. Tyrannids don't have many tank hunting units so I recommend thousan sons.

 

Aye... I HAVE had a craving for using tanks lately... and who can complain about a 4+ Invuln on your "basic" troops?

Ahhh... I would, but the next store-run Apocalypse game is 2k points per player. 1k of Nids and 1k of Sons would NOT be fun :wink:...

 

Switch back and forth so give your nids a day off and make them lazy Tsons do some work!

 

If it is only 2k then yoru opponent can't be fielding too many titans/S. Heavies. I'd go with CSm vs Tanks, unless you have a stash of Carnifex?

 

thousand sons are good in apocalypse when you consider all those strength D, anti-tank weapons that will be on both sides.

 

If you have a few (over 5) carnifexes then tyranids might be a viable choice (put them in a mycentic assault storm and deep strike them next to the titan, shot at it then in the next turn rip it apart in CC). But otherwise Tsons might like a go.

 

thousand sons all the way. at 2000 points is where the thousand sons shine the most! being a new tyranid player i can already see their downfall in apocalypse being that they lack transports and a consistent way to deal with said armor. do not get me wrong tyranids rock! but i think this is a fight for the Thousand Sons.
