HEY

i'm still sucking it up at the painting but i'm working on it - i've almost finished my dark apostle which is very little conversioning, basically a sorc model with wings and the mace of Sauron [[lotr]]

My camera was being a bitch though so its not a very good picture, i had to zoom, cut, sharpen, and saturate a little - so it would hopefully look more like it does, but whatever

and since i'm in love with Trigun [hence meh avatar/sig] I'm naming him Legato, Kinves's lonely lacky

SO, here we go

FRONT

BACK

these picts kinda make it hard to see the light drybrushing i did on his face and washing i did on the wings :cray: but they're there! sorta, i'm working on it

on a side note - does anyone know any thing cheap that i could locate in say my backyard that i could use to glue to the base so it looks like he's stepping on rocks like normal chaotic future-men?

Depends what you have in your garden. gravel will work if you have it, big stones will work too if you just take chips out of em' then use the chips (mmm, chips...).

Green stuff will work for anything if you have it.

Well, when in doubt, Google it!:laugh::):grin:

Overall it is nice work but I do have one problem with it along the lines of constructive criticism: there is no real contrasting colour. With the red main colour backed by the brown of the wings and the bone the model has a very monochromatic look to it that makes it all blend together. I would HIGHLY suggest that you use a green of some kind, preferrably bright, or even a yellow to separate out small areas of the model to provide contrast which will make the model really pop. If I might offer a suggestion, use said green or yellow on the piping of the model (across the chest, abdomen, backpack, etc) and you will really make this model stand out. I would also suggest painting the shoulder trim in gold instead of the bronze as they blend into the colour of the wings behind.

Like I said it is well done overall it just needs a bit more to really finish it. You will be surprised at the difference it makes. If you are not sure about it, try it on a smaller section of piping first to see how you like it and if you don't you can always repaint it as you have it now. Just a suggestion :)

HEY!
would this be acceptable? the color arrow would be what the kinda, belt-ish thing its pointed to [[goblin green]] - I'm not sure if I should color the "mantle" thing anything bright
