Welcome to the game, Deth!

All things considered, for a starter army, it's not bad at all. I assume that your Overlord will go into the same unit as Obyron and the Lychguard? Makes a very strong 'tank' unit, and Obyron can deep strike them where they need to go once.

The other option might be to remove Obyron and use a Night Scythe to get those models around the board, and then give you a little bit more firepower.

Thanks man,

Well, I was told by a friend to reshape it a bit, and i came up with this

Starter Army (890pts)

HQ (140pts)

Overlord with Phylactery, The Veil of Darkness, Warscythe

Elites (150pts)

5 Lychguard with Hyperphase Sword & Dispersion Shield

Troops (430pts)

5 Immortals with Tesla

5 Immortals with Tesla

10 Necron Warriors

10 Necron Warriors

Heavy Support (170pts)

1 Doomsday Ark

Simple, but seems effective for a small army, but I'm here to learn, so any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

With this, my plan would be to put the overlord with the lychguard and use the Veil of Darkness while giving them support with my Doomsday ark/troops, but again, I'm here to learn

have you purchased any models yet?

if not, I highly recommend looking at the Necron Starter box. Why? Because it comes with a squad of Warriors, a Triarch Stalker (I *love* that model), and an Overlord. You can use it as the Formation, or just use the models.

Without using the formation, my only issue with this army is speed. Sure, necrons are pretty durable, but you have no way of moving forward. Using the Veil is great, but your initial list was better simply because you had a way of moving your Warriors forward to catch up to the Veil. In this option, if you jump your Overlord and Veil forward, they'd be unsupported by the rest of your infantry. This is why I suggest either a couple of the Arks, or (personal preference) Night Scythes.

I don't have point access available in front of me to give you a list suggestion, but I'd probably go with something like this:

Overlord w/ Phylactery, Warscythe & Veil
Lychguard w/ Sword + Shield x5

10 Warriors w/ Night Scythe
10 Warriors w/ Night Scythe

Triarch Stalker w/ Heavy Gauss

Triarch Stalker w/ Heavy Gauss

You can use the Doomsday if you like it, like I said, the Triarch Stalker is a favorite of mine; the Heavy Guass means it can break any enemy tank you have to deal with, and anything that you don't kill, other guns in your army can have an easier time shooting because of its other special rules.

You could also consider a Command Barge, which is another personal favorite of mine; if you give the Overlord a Phylactery, the entire Barge gets It Will Not die, and now you have a strong command unit (give him a Warscythe) that can throw himself into the enemy lines and make a mess.

No I haven't, as I was going to get the starter box anyway and build up from there, as I like the Triarch Model as well and gives great support to my range units with Targeting Relay.

I might actually do that, CCB sounds like a good idea as well,

thanks for the advice,
