I've given this some thought and I have come up with a pretty good 500 point army. Here it is:

+Librarian 145
-Terminator Armor and Storm Shield
-Powers are Blood Lance and Fear of Darkness
+Furioso Dreadnought 140
-Blood Talons
-Extra Armor
+Assault Squad (5 men) 115
-Meltagun
-Meltabombs
-Jump Packs
+Death Company (5 men) 100

My plan with this army is for the Librarian to be the anti-tank with his Blood Lance (I don't expect there to be too much armor in a 500 pt. game) and have my death company charge up. My death company are not meant to live, I want as much fire as possible focused on them while my Assault Squad swings around on a flank and my Furioso comes from the front as well but follows behind the DC to use them as cover. I gave the Furioso Blood Talons as I see him fulfilling a more anti-infantry roll than a tank buster roll.

That is my plan with this army, let me know what you guys think.

Over all i think its a pretty good list. well balanced as it needs to be at 500pts. the only problems im seeing is you will rely completely on tabling your opponent and also what do you plan on doing with the libby? hes not protected anymore by units up front so he needs to be ina squad. your DC are foot slogging, controllable and meant to die as you put it. your assualt squad has jump packs. A few ways to rectify this might be change out the DC for another assualt sqd on foot in a razorback, or give the libby the ability to move with the assault sqd. Also you have no power weapons or PFs in the squads. my only recommendation is to drop the dread for now, use those points to make these changes, maybe even put the DC in a razor back so they are not as controllable also give you more fire power

regardless the way i would deal with your list is, (and this is to help you see a vantage point to better your list) is i would send off something to take control of your DC, maybe a tank, a walker or something then pop your libby. i would ignore the dread because he wont be an issue for atleast two turns. then i would deal with him at my leisure. then the rest of your army can be dealt with as it comes.

Heres something i would be alittle more worried about seeing matched up against me:

Libby w/ Blood Lance & Sanguine Sword - 100pts

5 Assault Marines w/ PW&MB, Rhino - 135pts (libby here)
4 Death Company w/ PW, Razorback - 150pts

Dreadnought with blood fist and assault cannon - 115pts

500pts

Ok, so now your opponent would have to make a choice. deal with the rhino and that libby shooting out, or deal with the razorback and those nasty DC all the while your dread can mosey up and blast them away at his leisure.

-or-

Libby w/ Blood Lance & Sanguine Sword - 100pts

5 Assault Marines w/ PW&MB, flamer, Rhino - 135pts (libby here)
5 Assault Marines w/ PW&MB, flamer, Razorback - 140pts

Dreadnought with blood fist and assault cannon - 115pts

500pts

Still makes your opponent decide what to deal with but now you have an additional scoring unit and some flamers to deal with bugs and pesky mushrooms.

hope that helps. good luck and happy hunting!

Thanks and I see what you mean by a few things...
However I feel a little more inclined on a few things I mentioned... One of these being the Libby. With a 2+ normal save and a 3+ invo save he is mostly safe from most things. Also the Dread (being a walker vehicle) can run making him much more able to catch anything that may try and manuver around him. And I didn't mean that I wanted to get my DC killed, I just had them in there as a distraction rather than a real important piece. I would like to say thank you for giving me your two cents... I might have to try your idea now... Thanks :)

PS: I would lastly like to point out that I would use fear of Darkness the first turn and hopefully cause one of their heavy infantry units to flee off the board.

I understand the save importance for the termie armour. but his only option is to join your distraction sqd and getting into combat when hes better at firing off blood lances. at the very least if you do that, i would give him the sanguine sword. that way people will think even harder before engaging him, allowing you more time to fire off those lances.

I see what you are saying... Thanks for all the help with figuring this out. I know that I'm a little stubborn and have a thick skull when it comes to getting me to agree with people... but you seem to have done a good job. Thanks again!
