You're looking like you're 5 points over if my calculations are correct. The libbie is okay. I'm just not sure you need the combi-melta. The infernus pistols are also seriously expensive and short ranged for a melta drop. I understand if you have to build on what you already have though. Is that part of the rules for this campaign? If not, me being a tank guy and all, would be a total dick and run two footlogging tac squads, two fast vindicators, and a techmarine at 500. That's 50 points leftover for stormbolters, dozerblades, and tactical squad heavy weapon upgrades and can kill anything at 500 points.

But I see where you're going here. Just remember that at 500 the boards are usually smaller and every point counts. So 24" weapons fair very well. This is were multi-meltas and assault cannons really shine. Also upgrades have to be absolutely necessary. Multi-purpose units also pay for themselves in spades as you never know what your 3 or 4 units will face.

Yeah I understand. I was considering at least one vindicator too ( I own two) but the campaign is aiming to be as starter-friendly as possible. I recently got a few people back into the game so this campaign is aiming to get them fully used to the rules and whatnot so we're avoiding harsh lists and going more for fun but interesting ones.

Im not sure how many people will stick to those rules so im taking the meltas to ensure i can pop some vehicles basically. The rhino with the H.flamer can push up then go cap objectives and the scouts will just sit on objectives. Death company seem pretty brutal atm and i can see me getting my points back off them easily....

Oh that's cool man. I wish our group had more newbie-friendly events. The guys I play with are great while sitting around and drinking a beer, but assholes on the table. We see a lot of cheese during tournaments. That's why we impose so many restrictions. Our new guys get stuck in a "sink or swim" scenario when they come to their first tournament. Some do surprisingly well even using borrowed armies. Some come in last in back to back events.

So have you guys already played this one? If so, how'd the GK side do?
