I've started to collect Thousand Sons, though the Legion has no special rules any more, just the Troops. Therefore the army has a Thousand Son theme. I hate the new codex so much... Criticism is welcome, as I have posted this here thanks to Pyromanic Tendencies' frequent verbal bombardment on this army list.

Well, Magnus, I've said it before and I'll say it again: I think you're list lacks mobility. With the majority of your army being slow and purpousful, I'd say some raptors would be a must.

160 points over might be a bit much for some players, id maybe suggest some chosen for mobility or just advanced positioning for your termies and daemons, prolly drop the Land raider and deep strike your termies, and drop a squad of Tsons for chosen, and maybe drop the dread or a squad of daemons for a additional pred

Rhinos might not be a bad idea, to give you some mobility

Couple of points:

The greater daemon is going to require you sacrifice a VERY expensive model in order to bring it on the table, either through the lord, the term champs, or the indispensible Tson champs. I really wouldn't bother with it unless you had a squad or two of regular marines with the Icon of Tzeentch to summon from.

Rhinos are a MUST in a Tson army, especially for the Gift and Wind units. Mobility is absolutely key in 4th ed and as Pyro pointed out, you have none and you WILL get owned more often than you'd like because of it. Not every time of course, but you are setting yourself up for an uphill battle right off the start without mobility of some kind. I would drop the Dreadnought or the Lesser Daemons to outfit the troops with Rhinos.

Dread blow. Period. Nuff said.

Other than that, I have no real issues with this list and it does have a lot of ap3 killing goodness in it to be sure. But you will struggle to meet objectives with this list for sure with Recon being almost impossible for you to reach the enemy deployment zone for example. Objectives are how the game is won and lack of mobility seriously screws your ability to achieve them.

I currently have a full infantry 1k Sons army that I'm working on, and even with that, I have to say that I agree about the lack of mobility.

Your heavy anti-stuff weaponry comes from 3 expensive tanks, and you can assume they'll be destroyed quickly.

I'd probably remove the Wind and Gift spells, replace them with more Bolts of Change. granted, getting your footslogging Rubrics in range will be as hard as my own force.

I personally hate the new Demons. There's nothing to them, in my opinion. They're generic, they're blade, and I wouldn't bother playing them.

Dreadnoughts for Chaos are not as effective as Dreads for Loyalist marines. I'd ditch it.

If you ditch the demons, you gain their points back, plus the icon points. I'd drop the Dreadnought for another Predator perhaps. And I'd upgrade the sponsons to Las also to make sure that when it opens up on a tank, that tank dies.

Thanks for the advice, and I've dropped some stuff to make room for a couple of rhinos. Though I'm keeping the Demons and Dread, simply because they're themeful and a lot of the point of most armies I build is to build them around that theme. Also, I suffer from OCD, which comes into 40k that I tend to have two of everything and my armies are always set up organised at deployment and such or it doesn't feel right to me. Like above I have two terminator squads and two units of lesser daemons, just like the fact I added two rhinos.

Well you have to go with what you like Mag, no doubts about that. Daemons I have no problem with apart from being bland as they are summoned and don't kill off an expensive model to arrive, it is the Greater Daemon I wouldn't go with in the list you have. Dreads suck imho but there are plenty of people who disagree with me so if you want one, by all means take it. I am glad to hear you put a couple of rhinos in there though as that will make sooooo much difference for your army it isn't funny.
