Screaming Skull Catapult w/ no upgrades

2249pts, 98 Models, 10 Drops, 16 Units, 5 Incantations + Jar + 1 Bound Item.

I have all of these models as well as 1 more Chariot, an Icon Bearer, another Lich Priest, and just 3 or 4 more Skellies. Also, I've yet to play with this list, so I have no firm plan set in place for the tactical maneuvering of the army. Advice and comments are much appreciated.

Thanks!

The only question I have is why did you go 20 strong on the archers? Will you set em up in 4 ranks of 5, 2 ranks of 10, or a straight line of 20? Understandablally you need 5's to hit with em but my personal preference is to keep my shooter units small. Other than that looks like a pretty tight list.

I would suggest dropping one or two horsemen units to get more chariot units. because chariots kick @$$

I'm going to have to agree with Blackhiker, get rid of the Light Horsemen. The only use I have found for them are as escorts for mounted Liche Priests. I'd rather have either blocks of archers, (more shots for the same amount of points) Heavy Horsemen, (better save and S4 on the charge, can be decent flankers) or more Chariots. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

You still do have 1 Special slot open, so maybe try to squeeze in another Scorpion or a group of 5 Carrion in there as an alternative to the above suggestions.

@ Mgtymouze: 20 archers is actually a fairly common number for Tomb King archers. You can run them in a line of 20 (or 10x2 if on a hill) to maximize the number of shots they get. Then when the enemy closes in, you reform them into a 5x4 formation for close combat.

Spector has the right of it regarding the Archers.... They have a bit of utility in most any situation, and make for a very hefty bunker for a Liche in need.

I really like the idea of the Light Horsemen... The ability to throw out just a few more shots is just lagniape. What really matters is that they can pefrom well as diverters and march blockers and flankers, all of which allow my actual combat units to get in and do their thing...
