This is the first list I have posted on heresy despite being here for 2 years. Feedback is appreciated but there will be limits to the models i have to deploy.

hq.Command squad 117pts
Bolt pistol,reg standard,LC team,Master of the ordinance

troops.Platoon 462pts
command,lc team,BP
squad x2 combined
squad x2 combined
LC hw squad x2

troops.Platoon 382pts
command,lc team,BP
squadx3 combined
ml hw squad x2

troops. Vets 155pts
3 meltaguns,chimera

Elite. marbo 65pts

elite. 9 Storm troopers 179pts
2 meltagun,pw

2 meltagun

HS
2x leman russ basic 300pts

My only concern is mobility of troops for objective grabs. I can contest but I have only one swift troop unit.
Advise me gentlemen and ladies.

Aside from the fact I don't rate ST's that highly I think you need to add an Astropath to the list to ensure you're getting the most out of them ala arriving earlier, choosing the Board edge etc. Giving them Meltas is definitely the best build and if they actually wipe out a valuable target before dying all the better.

Not a fan of giving a Demolisher HB Sponsons..either take Plasma Cannons or zip. The Hull HF is fine with or without Sponsons.

Seen as you've spent your points on getting more Infantry than Chimeras all you can do is foot it up the Board as fast as possible hugging cover and hoping you have enough Troops left once you get to where you want to be. Aside from getting some mobility by taking Al'Rahem, Harker or even Creed with his Scout rule your choices are limited. At least you haven't given your Infantry Squads HW's to slow them down.

Seen as the Reg/Standard has a 12" range as far as Morale/Leadership bubble goes, for the Infantry Squads to benefit the CCS will need to move to keep up with them, but the MoO has to not move to get his shot off...just wondering if he's a worthwhile choice, and also if Commissars wouldn't serve you better, especially as the Infantry Squads are combined?
(bearing in mind I don't use my CCS/Infantry the same way you are, so I might be way off on this so feel free to ignore this bit:laugh:)

One thing I considered is to keep the platoons, ccs and the heavy weapons together and castle up. And use the demolisher and the leman russ together with the vets to move up and secure additional objectives. To work it this way i may drop the tripple combined squad and replace it with another squad of vets in a second chimera. Or drop a single infantry squad to buy a second chimera so there is an extra mobile infantry squad. How does that sound?

Yea more mobility is always a good strategy...a PCS with 4 Flamers in a Chimera is a very good unit that can react quickly to any enemy units threatening your Infantry. That 30 Man Blob could become unwieldly and hard to hide, so dropping it back to 20 would help with that plus get you that extra Chimera..good plan I reckon, and I personally would try that before dropping the 30 Man Blob altogether.

Thanks for the input HOBO

Revision looks like this.
hq.Command squad 117pts
Bolt pistol,reg standard,LC team,Master of the ordinance

troops.Platoon 462pts
command,lc team,BP
squad x2 combined
squad x2 combined
LC hw squad x2

troops.Platoon 387pts
command,lc team,BP
squad
squad +chimera
ml hw squad x2

troops. Vets 155pts
3 meltaguns,chimera

Elite. marbo 65pts

elite. 9 Storm troopers 179pts
2 meltagun,pw

elite. 8 Storm troopers 153pts
2 meltagun

HS
2x leman russ basic 300pts

leman russ demolisher 185pts
hb sponsons, heavy flamer
total 2003pts

The demolisher sponsons I cannot drop(glued on, first model I built)
although I have considered swapping it for a basi for some arty support. The points saved could buy an astropath. This would mean the advancing group would consist of 2 lr's and 2 chimeras with marbo and the st's comming on in support when they arrive.

Just rip those Sponsons off man:wink:, as you would either be replacing them anyway with Plasma Sponsons so any slight damage caused would be covered over by the new ones, or just do some creative Camo painting or use Weathering Powders to cover it up..I've done it to a few of mine in the past and I can't tell that it's been done at all.

Some Arty is never a bad idea, although not a fan of the Bassie so much as the other more specialist ones, or a Manticore if I want a really good generalist piece..but depends on the opponents faced most times.
