Lords seem pretty eh, and do you really need the Royal Court? It seems a pretty pricey way of getting the extra HQ slots at the tax of taking a Lord. I'd want to kit out the Command Barge more as well - Phase Shifter or Nightmare Shroud and Warscythe seem pretty obvious picks there.
I'm not a fan of a Lord, but mostly this was because I wanted more Crypteks. The Royal Court's the only way I can get a ton of Crypteks without taking a C'tan Shard or some such. The Mephrit Dynasty doesn't let you go past the standard 2 HQ (right? Now I need to double check that). In the end, I settled on giving the Veil to the Lord so he could at least have some purpose, giving me an emergency 'Ha ha!' shock and awe with a random back field set of Immortals. As for the Barge, Not sure on a Phase Shifter since it doesn't extend to the Barge itself, while the Phylac specifically gives IWND to the vehicle. Scythe's automatic... if I found points.
I'd drop the Court and upgrade this guy to Szeras to still cover both squads as well as the other buffs that guy brings.
Admittedly, I know jack all about the characters aside from Anrakyr, so I'll have to look into that. Again, the Court was for lots of Cryptek supports for the rolls. And I rather love the CCB.
I don't get Immortals in the new book - why would you not bring Tomb Blades and be strictly better? The only thing Immortals have going for them is Objective Secured, which isn't even present here.
Mephrit Dynasty requires three troops. If I went with the Decurion, I'd switch over to Tomb Blades.
Not sure why these guys are paying to upgrade their double-shot Multi-Meltas to Lascannons, or even why there's three of them with no foot infantry to benefit from the +1 BS. Why not Annihilation Barges? Or Tomb Blades? Or hell, Heavy Destroyers?
Mostly because I just love them being able to hammer the crap out of things at range. I probably could switch it all around, and use the Broadsides with their Railguns for the real heavy guns, and switch the Stalkers to the MeltaFlamers. I love the model, love the unit; running three of these is why I wanted Mephrit over Decurion, because you can't field them in Decurions without Praetorians.
Standard disgusting ally plug-in. Always effective, although I'd like Zahndrekh to take advantage of all the tasty USRs Tau can bring.
I have no shame. But see above about the other characters.
