As I said in my post about Alternative to Lash (http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=71880), here is my new Death Guard list modified to be more tournament worthy, or competitive, or whatever you prefer.

Seems like a pretty solid list, I've run one similar a few times, although I don't know why you have put a DP with MoT in a Death Guard list haha?

Also the only thing I would never take is the greater Daemon, they really aren't a patch on what they used to be for us Chaos players, I would drop him and find the points elsewhere.

That being said why would you summon a greater loldaemon when you have to explode a 73(Ish? I dont have my codex on me) champion?

And what the butt do nurgle marines have any business being in a land raider?

Instead of making a high priority target, why not try to make some more synergy in the lists, I love the two princes, very classy but instead of the eight man PM squad why not take some zerks if you MUST use a land raider? They hit harder, faster, and more.

My other advice would be dropping the raider, drop the eight man down to 6 and instead, run with more squads, if you want that hard-hitting feeling possibly try these squad ideas:

Rhino
Extra armor
They come right off the board edge to shit all over someone. Plus they have a much cheaper champion for your greater demon to jump out of, and with the outflank rule you can run them in, hope the daemon pops in next turn and bam. Instant behind-the-lines daemon and squad of unignorable gunfire.

Heavy Flamer
Combi-meltax2(Or whatever mix of combis and heavy flamers)
These guys deep strike in to rape whatever bothered the plague marines, or to explode land raiders or anything else that needs removal, and they're cheap as chips ranking in at 115 points, or thereabouts. You could even add a champ for the cost of a melta gun to pop your GD out of.

I think the land raider might be a big mistake, you're only toting three squads at 2000 points and you might not have enough firepower to gun someone down.

I'd also suggest dropping the combis. No take needs more than two meltas at close range to incinerate.

I would drop the greater daemon from this list since you champions cost 63 points each, and that's a ton to sacrifice. If you wanna run the greater daemon, I'd take all the upgrades off a champ to use for it. Also, grab another ability on your MoT DP, wind of chaos goes great with warptime and you'd make better use of being able to use 2 abilities. Other than that, it looks pretty solid. If you need some free points for something, the LR really doesn't need those upgrades.

It looks like you have a concept of what you want to do.

Here are my suggestions.

Daemon Prince with Mark of Tzteetnch: This model is highly expensive and your not really using him for his warp abilities. So basically just using it for a four up invulnerable. I suggest the MoS. The reason why is because when I see 6 obliterators, it screams LASH! Plus initiative six attacks are awesome.

Greater Daemon: Greater Daemons are cool, but usually people don't think about how much they will not be used and what they sacrifice when they use them. So basically, you will be sacrificing the best model in one of your squads for the greater daemon to summon making your squad useless in close-combat, plus the debate over when you should do this summon. Which of course means, a big portion of the game, you wont be using his greatness anyway.

Land Raider Its good to have if your trying to transport something that needs much protecting like terminators or chosen. However, it looks like your using it like a predator. Which if you think about it, is only two lascannon going "pew pew" at targets. You are better off using those points on a predator, obliterators, or even a tank that does more damage... a vindicator. If you like any of the vehichal choices, be aware that daemonic possession is a must.

Hey Lord Aaron, I just want to play a bit of a devils advocate against some of the advice given here. Now I'm not a Death Guard player and not as competitive (but still very competitive lol) as some people here so I just want to offer some alternate views...

First I like a nurgle Daemon Princes with Wings and Wind of Chaos, so maybe one Warptime for Elite/Character hunting and the other for those horde armies like Tyranids, Boys etc. So try that.

Next take a plasma plague marine squad, two plasma guns, great at taking out MC and opening light vehicles and you can use your FNP save against overheats, and give the champion a combi-flamer so it is pretty solid against troops as well.

I actually really like the GD the problem is you need a cheap but fast delivery system like everyone is saying, so maybe a Raptor champion? Also 7 is Nurgle's fluffy number and 7 is actually the best size for Lesser Daemons, so one or even two squads of 7 LD (plaguebearer models of course) will both add character to your army and be competitive because it gives you a great unit for seizing objectives.

Finally, why is it that everyone has a love affair with Oblits,? They are really slow i.e. slow and purposeful, which if you go to any Tzeentch board is held against Thousand Sons and they can be mounted in a Rhino, Oblits can't. So why not 3 Vindi's or a Havoc Squad in a Rhino (fluffyish) or something else? Also as I've said on a few boards a LR is just dreadful allround so choose anything else, even if it is more Oblits.

So those are some thoughts, that maybe run a little counter to what some people might say, and I always enjoy giving people alternate ideas. So enjoy!
