Here is a marine list I came up with recently, for 7th edition:

White Scars Combined Arms Detachment:

HQ — Librarian — Mastery Level 2, Terminator Armour, Storm Shield — 125 Points

HQ — Command Squad — Bikes, 4 Grav Guns, Apothecary — 210 Points

Elites — 10 Sternguard Veterans — 4 Combi-meltas, 4 Combi-gravs — 310 Points

Dedicated Transport — Drop Pod — 35 Points

Troops — Tactical Squad — Plasma Gun, Combi-plasma — 165 Points

Dedicated Transport — Rhino — 35 Points

Troops — Tactical Squad — Plasma Gun, Combi-plasma — 165 Points

Dedicated Transport — Rhino — 35 Points

Troops — Tactical Squad — Flamer, Combi-flamer — 155 Points

Dedicated Transport — Drop Pod — 35 Points

Fast Attack — Stormtalon Gunship — Skyhammer Missile Launchers — 125 Points

Fast Attack — Stormtalon Gunship — Skyhammer Missile Launchers — 125 Points

Ultramarines Allied Detachment:

HQ — Chief Librarian Tigurius — 165 Points

Troops — Scout Squad — Camo Cloaks — 65 Points

Heavy Support — 3 Centurions — Grav Cannons and Grav Amps — 250 Points

2000 Points

Tigurius and the Librarian go with the Centurions (hopefully 5 warp charge levels are enough to have a strong Psychic Phase). The Command Squad drives around and targets scary units, Hammer of Wrathing them before Hitting and Running away. The Sternguard combat squad upon arrival, with the Grav squad helping eliminate a Riptide and the Melta squad busting a tank/MC. The Flamer tactical Squad drops in as late as possible and clears a small grot squad off an objective. The Scout Squad Outflanks in onto an objective as late as possible. Centurions run in front of the rhinos, giving the rhinos cover while controlling the midfield with a 30” threat bubble of doom. The list is meant for semi-competitiveness, in that it will win in friendly play and stand a chance in a tournament. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Good list, agree with Oldman78, may lose out to a close combat force (blood angels/death company with furioso dreadnought in support can be messy, especially if placed within a land raider.

Anti air may also be an issue, but assuming your stormtalons can swat them out of the sky fast enough then shouldnt be a problem.

Have you thought about any fortifications, shore up your cover if possible?

I find a techmarine (be him with TF cannon or not) can help make a ruin pretty robust under high AP weaponry via bolster defences.
