Hi there,
I have a 2k (1k per player) team tournament coming up and I am trying to decide on a list. There are some rules for army comp, no superheavies or gargantuan creatures, you must take
a CAD can only take a formation once, only one flyer.

My partner will either be playing orcs or skitari, so I am trying to come up with a good list to compliment his strengths.

Imperial Guard
CAD:
Pask
-Punisher, multi-melta sponsons
-Leman Russ Battle Tank

Infantry Platoon:
PCS

Inf. Squad
-Autocannon, Commisar

Inf. Squad
-Autocannon

Veterans 170
-Chimera, 3x Plasma Guns

Fast Attack:
Vendetta

Fortification:
Aegis Defense Line 100
-Quad Gun

Hello, Mr. Giant Rat :)
My partner will either be playing orcs or skitari, so I am trying to come up with a good list to compliment his strengths.
My humble opinion is that, unless you tailor with your partners both the lists, yu should always strive to achieve YOUR maximum, regardless of his own list. Win your battle and you will be able to help where i struggles.

About the list
Pask, punisher, plasma cannon sponsons
LR battle tank body guard

PCS
Inf squad Auto
Inf Squad, auto

Vets, plasma, chimera, dozer blade

Vets camo cloaks, autocannon

Vendetta

Ordo malleus inquisitor (ld 10 runs with the blob squad)
3x servo skulls,
The inquisitor with skulls is tasty, however 20 guards hardly justify its intervention...
This said, since your vets squads are not effective (only 1 plasmagun and an autocannon are not enough to justify the base cost of 2 squads of vets)
i'd ditch the autocannon team and add another 10 guards to the blob, with autocannon and meltabombs for the sarge, just in case. Also, i'd rather take 2 meltaguns in the first squad: the chimera is there to drive up the field and you will be able to reach a short distance where meltas can be better effective, without burning your men.
About the tank unit: i try not to mixmatch weapon profiles and tanks in the pask unit.
A punisher pask is extra tasty, but i'd remove the plasma cannons and take either another punisher OR an executioner. Also, do not underestimate the tactical potential of an eradicator. Give it two plasma cannons and you have a reliable unit to kill any horde. It will also be a threat to any (and there are many) xeno army heavily relying to cover; moreover it will be supported by the pasked-punisher that WILL cause harm.
SO my suggested list is this:

Pask, punisher,
Eradicator battle tank body guard, plasma cannon sponsons, heavy flamer hull

PCS
Inf squad Auto
Inf Squad, auto
Inf Squad, auto, meltabombs

Vets, 2 meltaguns , chimera heavy flamer turret / Hbolter hull, dozer blade

Vendetta

Ordo malleus inquisitor
3x servo skulls,

you should even have some spare points! Why not consider some heavy flamer othe vets? Or the evergreen 4x flamers on the PCS, loaded onto the vendetta?

Wow that's great thanks! Yeah I do usually run my pcs in the Vendetta!

I was a little worried about riptides/ghostkeels but the tank squad would handle them nicely, plus orks swarms would also do the trick!

Thank you for hte help, let me see hwat extra points I have!

So after following your suggestions making the inq a lv 1 psycher and giving the PCS a heavy flamer and 3 regular flamers I have 16 points left over.

Should I drop a flamer in the pcs and give pask bolter sponsons? Maybe I should give the inq poer armor, and pask a dozer blade? Does it matter? lol

well, the inquisitor is dead if he runs out of meatshields...power armour or not! points better spent elsewhere imo. Also, he's not your warlord...so...the emperor protects, right?
Bolter sponson seems a nice addition to the punisher, to me!

about riptides/ghostkeels
about them..well..your are going to bleed. really. those are undercoster extra shooty, super resistant cheesefactories. You have the vendetta and the pask squadron to deal with them, which admittedly is...lacking. However, you cannot tailor a list to fight a couple of models, expecially with IG, sadly one of the best codex made by GW, but incredibly outgunned by the most recent updated codices. I guess that if you kill the rest of the enemy army a single riptide/ghostshit cannot win the game alone.
