Revisiting an idea I had a while back but never got right. I still don't think it's right, but I see so much potential. Basically a White Scars CAD with Champions of Fenris detachment Thunderwolves. I'm hoping to mitigate the negative effects of jink with some good CC and/or tank some hits to keep on shooting. Hordes/flyers may be an issue, but I don't think Flyrant lists deal well with multi-wound 2+/3++ models that are in CC half the time or can grav the crap out of MCs on the ground. Without further adookie, here's the list.

The plan:
Khan goes with the TWC and both Iron Priests or one Iron Priest and a WGBL. Each bike squad gets a WGBL to tank hits for them, or give them some mad CC ability. The best anti-horde option I have is from the basic TWC and all those attacks. Anti-flyer? Tank that crap with the WGBLs. I will also be using Lookout Sir! a bit on the "deathstar". This is very different from my mostly MSU playstyle. I don't like deathstars, and even though I'm not sure if this qualifies, it feels like one (never played one in my life). I do like having Scout and Hit & Run on everything. It just doesn't feel... complete to me. Would love some help on this one!

Super. Freaking. Fail. I did a "play test" against a simulated Nid army and my landspeeder list. Bikes and wolves fell apart like a leper on a treadmill. Tried to circle the wagons and leave the WGBLs on the outsides to tank, and I could still get through massed firepower with skyblight and speeder mobility. Kept getting speed bumped by gargoyles too. Never even got to the back lines. I'm sticking to MSU lists where my ass belongs!

Decided to read up on Wolfstar a bit more. Here's what I want to try next. Has anyone actually tried a wolfstar list?

Pods drop in to kill knights and other sources of S10 or D weapons. The pod kills hordes if necessary. The scouts sit at home and chill out. Everything else balls up into on big wolfy/bikey mess.

The scouting deathstar is definitely a go. This thing is pure evil and breaks up to grab objectives and deal with MSU armies. However, I feel that White Scars aren't bringing as much to the table as Dark Angels can. So I've switched em out for some ravenwing bikes and more scoring units that can clear out hordes and any sources of S10 weapons.

So I took this baby for a walk the other day. I did drop the lords to WGBLs so I could bring a 3rd Iron Priest. I was playing against my own speeder spam list that puts out a world of hurt. I let my "very sad that DE suck now, but still great skimmer player" friend use that list. I wanted to go first, ya'know, just to limit the amount of times I get shot at until my turn two charge. Everything went my way. I got hammer and anvil deployment so he was boxed in, I won the roll off, most of the objectives were in his deployment zone, all good things. Then he seizes. I went ahead and scouted right out into the middle of the board where there was no cover (like I need it) and turn 1 ate a bazillion Str8 shots. I lost one battle leader and took 3 wounds spread out due to lookout sir! rolls on two others. I moved forward right on his doorstep and dropped in two pods. My deathwind launchers dropped two speeders and my plasmas killed another. The meltas didn't do much. Mostly misses. I think I got a crew shaken or something on a dreadnought. Whoopty doo. Turn two he fires everything he can again, kills nothing, assaults my wolfstar with some ravenwing bikes and a scout squad (I have no idea why), and all of them were killed before they could even strike (due to I5 on a few models). After that, and he knew I could start breaking apart my deathstar to assault things, he surrendered before I even got a turn two. Although the points were in his favor, he was up on malestrom objectives 7 to 5 at the end of the first. He just didn't want to see that can of whoop ass openned.
