ok im sorry for everyone that commented on my last list, but the place i played at decided to switch to 1850 lists. Heres mine can I get some opinions please?

List looks pretty good. Just a few suggestions. First I would consider taking out the scouts and the thunderfire cannon. If you could find the points, I would add another tac squad or some other infantry unit to put your libby with. As it stands it looks like he is by himself and that will quickly turn into a dead HQ. Maybe take the terminator armor off the libby so you can put him in a rhino or some other transport.

Another thing to consider is splitting the speeders up into separate units. It will allow them to shoot at different targets and also protects them a little more from getting shot at. Units of vehicles are vulnerable and there low armor can backfire against you if the enemy shoots into the unit.

You could also try swapping out meltaguns for your flamers in the tac squads, and replacing the multi-meltas with missile launchers. Multi-meltas can be good, but you have to stay put to shoot them, and a smart opponent will just avoid them. The missile launchers are a little more versitile, and the meltagun gives you the ability to do drive by melta shots in your rhino. If you have points left over, you can give the sergeant a combi-flamer which gives you the template before you assault.

i second dropping the thunderfire cannon, but ive never used it, and the libby issue.

if you want to keep with the drop pod assault idea youve got then id swap the libby for a chaplain with a jump pack & put at least a 5man assault squad in a DP.

i personally love running my HQ with assault units

it is indeed a decent list.

i agree the Libby terminator seems to stick out. by himself in termie armor he seems like an odd choice.

i'd consider dropping for a standard Capt., Chappy, Cassius, or MotF w/a Conversion Beamer as he'd be able to bolster your Scout's Defenses. if you take him without the Conversion Beamer give him a couple of Servitors to enhance his ability to repair your tanks and Dreads.

i would keep the Scouts but drop the Thunderfire to give your Preds Auto Cannons and LC sponsons.

agree w/ battousa, missiles are better. i would also give your speeders MM instead. thunderfire cannons are pretty awsome. i would either drop the scouts for another, or trade them both in for another tac squad. the cannons are the ultimate in anti-infantry weapons.

You can't claim the weapon bonuses if you are running 9 man squads, they have to be 10 man. camo cloaks are nice, but if the enemy is actually shooting at your scouts, you win, because it lets higher damage units (basically everything else) get into position, so i hardly use the upgrade, and actually encourage them to shoot at my scouts (in some kind of 4+ cover)

also with the librarian and all the defensive spoints spent on it, it should be running with a squad and not being targeted anyways. He's only got 2 wounds, so i would never allocate wounds to him when being shot upon. save yourself 40 points. Also I would prefer the plasma cannon over autocannon with that configeration. Now it shoots well against infantry and tanks.

Hey, you're still on the low end of the firepower scale... Your preds will be a whole lot more useful with las sponsons...

Marines kind of suck in CC.... so IF the tac squads are in cc... then it will be luck of the dice that saves you (or your fighting guard) But just like the guard... if you're in CC, then you've failed somewhere. So I would plan on cobat squadding them so that you don't have to leave the rhino parked to do something useful with those ML (which are a much better option than the Multi-melta)

I personally don't like Typhoons, mainly because they aren't "my style" I would much rather take a Land Speeder with 2 Multi Meltas and make them tank killers, they work fantastic on a biker, and should work well on a Land Speeder.

Take with a pinch of salt :)

For some odd reason when i copied and pasted it didn't include almost 500 pts of units. Little surprised no one noticed my math was way off 1850 haha. Later today Ill look at your comments and adjust my list accordingly thanks.

well having your tact squads with a MM & flamer combo is great in a short range firefight, i think that youd be gunned down if your rhinos are ever taken out.

personally id go with the crusader, for no reason other than id just rather have the ability to shoot if i know i wont be able to assault

Definately 'multa metals' (LOL!) should go out of the tac squads and add in ML. Combat squads, leaving the missile guy and 4 regulars behind to add a rocket here and there and hold 'home' objectives.

There are 10 guys in the tac squad right? 9 regulars and one sgt, as you wrote.

As they say, split up your typhoons so they are less vulnerable and more versatile in their positioning. And maybe a Multa Metal! for antitank suicide runs.

you might run into a dead land raider and lib/termies as they are the only split element in your army.

ps. general question.. why do i see that people run terminators as; Sgt w/ lc, 4 termies with th/ss? Say, instead of 2 lc's or all lc's. I love the th/ss don't get me wrong, just curious though as I haven't run them enough to know better.
