I think the plan here is quite obvious so I'll go on to explain my choices because I know that some might be considered a little.. iffy.
The Command Squad won the fight with a Sterngaurd Squad. The CS won because it was slightly cheaper, quite a bit more survivable and I could afford to give them some decent kit. The main counter point is that the Sternguard have a higher model count and special ammo, not that I'm lacking for bolter fire. In any case the Command Squad is my rock unit, LCs and Sicarius for thinning out the crowd, Powerfists for Walkers and MCs.
The 3 Tactical squads are there to bulk out the army. I was tempted to give them a Powerfist but I have the Dreadnaughts and CS to kill anything tough, besides I didn't have a spare 75pts.
I went for Ironclads because they are awesome when up close. The melta/flamer combo gives them some duality and the Assault Launchers are there to give it an edge in combat (where it will undoubtedly end up). I could drop them for regular Dreads to free up some points but I don't know if they'll be as effective.
It looks really solid. But what 4 pods are ganna drop first round? And what skill are you ganna give to which squad? And will them all being in drop pods I dont know id Sicarius is the best HQ. Maybe a Captain with LC or Pedro would be better.
I was thinking of giving one of the squads either counter attack or tank hunters, scout and infiltrate are a bit useless in this lol.
The first 4 pods were gonna be the dreads and Sicarius, they go in to mess up the enemy then the tactical squads come down to mop up or take objectives.
As for Sicarius, I just like him and ive never seen him played at my shop. Besides he makes the name of the army sound cool.
If you go against someone that manuvers you are going to be hurting. I might drop one of the dreads for 2 LS. They can DS as well so it keeps to the theme and gives you the ability to move. Your command squad has no ranged ability so I would just stay away from them and thats a lot of points just playing chase. Combi weapons on your tac squads will give you extra hitting power on the drops. Look and see if you can get the points to get a libby with gate for mobility as well.
