I was thinking of maybe trying a Nightspinner instead of one Fire Prism? I know the guy I'm playing will be running at least two but probably 3 Princes with 2 having wings (I think). Maybe the Spinner could slow that thing down (if it can hit) and maybe take a would or two of it by making it take dangerous terrain tests if it wants to use it's wings?
This is just a slight change from my usual list (have swapped out Eldrad and some Dire Avengers to fit in Scorpions and a Farseer).
I was thinking of running Scorpions as he runs a nasty group of Bloodletters (another reason to run a Spinner to slow these guys down?) and I believe they only have inv saves so thought the Scorpions would do better against them than Banshees. Hopefully their 40 attacks on the charge can put a good size dent into that unit. The Farseer would go in in with the Scorpions to hit the enemy with Doom and prot the Scorpions with Fortune against non-PW enemies.

My WS are modelled with the TL Brightlances so I always opt for them but what weapons do you think would be better suited?

C&C welcome.

In an objective game you might be boned. A good Daemons player is going to run his princes straight at your dire avengers' wave serpents, and squish whatever comes out of it the next turn.

Having bright lances doesn't help against greater deamons/princes, you want volume of shots, not high strength shots. I've had Bloodthirsters die to 20+ bolter shots many more times than lascannons shooting at it. You're on the right track with the 40+ attacks on the charge, beecause daemons all have invuln saves, but they are not the greatest saves. They'll fail eventually.

Just play keep away from the bloodletters and shoot the piss out of them, 5+ saves aren't great, and the unit as a whole is very slow.

Ok, so I'll probably swap the Brightlances on the Waveserpents for Scatterlasers.
How best to deal with the Princes? Should I try to use the Fire Dragons and their Str8 Fusion Guns to try to take them out one at a time or scrap the Fire Dragons for something else?
*ponder ponder*

I think a squad of Harlies would be better suited for taking out the Dp's, They will hit on a 40+ attacks and have the option to hit and run. Most people over look them, but i think they are fantastic. As Deamons dont shoot much you wont need a Shadow seer, so just pack the unit out with rendering Kisses and they will bring anything down.
