It's not at all uncommon for only one or two army variants to "work" in competitive environments. A list like the OP's can certainly "work" in some environments and may struggle in others. Usually when people make sweeping statements about a list being functional or non-functional, they're referring to the list's use in a specific less-than-casual environment.

Haha, as long as you're happy.Aha! Well then, I'm not and never will be a tourney player. I'm okay with a fluff consistent army that has a more iffy win/loss record. As long as I have some fun and give my opponent a hard slog I'm okay with losing...well, I'd have to be. Losing is what I do
