The main idea of this list is to keep my core of troops, but this time with a home objective camping squad (with a lascannon so they can actually do something useful). I want to try out a marshal for LD10 for the whole army, as well as to see how killy he and his command squad can be. The autolas predators are there for anti-tank duty, they will focus on anything with an armour value, or MC's. The jump initiates are there to keep the enemy guessing, and have been excellent at doing that in my 1000 point list (earlier today they blew up a battlewagon and killed the big mek in cc and stopped the burna boys from doing anything. 140 points died but they rendered about 1/3 points of my opponent's army useless). the idea is to have them either hunt tanks, or use them as a speedbump/countercharge/distraction.

What do you guys think? how would I make this more competitive, or is it good as is? Is this a good balance, or is my HQ+squad a major points sink?

No you are not you sniveling fool!
But yah, unless you are BA these days your lists get little attention. I dabbled in BT a while back. You have a pretty good army here, but I would advise switching out your Rhino for the camp squad with a Lazerback. That way you get more AT. Personally, Im not big into HQ w/ command squad only because they wont have enough time in an average game to make back their points even though they will kill most of what they come into contact with. As for the jump marines, they are a good idea but you may want to beef up the squad a bit. 5 men isnt really imposing. I would give all your initiates CCW due to universal re-roll to hit. Here is my BT list at 2000 points. Drop the LRC and Termies and you have got urself 1500 points
