1500 Black Legion

Hmm, I've been busy rooting through my bitz boxs and what not, bought the plastic chaos lord, and hey prest, I put together an entirely plastic army.

Due to my paint scheme for BL, the army will be painted within a week easily, I'm not a great painter, so I like to make my models as striking as possible with as little over-the-top detail as I can. So never expect a comp winning painted model from me, but likewise, at least I can make an army very uniform looking with a distinct style.

Anyway, this is my black legion army. As mentioned, entirely plastic. Just goes to show how much money I wasted on Chaos terminators when I found them for £11.50 a box on amazon.

I'm not trying to make a cheese list here, just something that people will have a hard time to beat.

I'm open to suggestions, here it is.

Chaos Lord
-Terminator Armour
-Daemon weapon
-Mark of Tzeentch
= 160

4 Chaos Terminators
-Reaper Autocannon
= 145

Chaos Space Marine Squad 1
-2 Meltaguns
-Champion with Powerfist
-Rhino
= 245

Chaos Space Marine Squad 2
-2 Meltaguns
-Champion with Powerfist
-Rhino
= 245

3 Obliterators
= 225

3 Obliterators
= 225

3 Obliterators
= 225

1500 total.

There we are. Fire away!

You really need a 3rd troop choice.
2 just isnt enough at 1500.

Also, i would consider dropping the RAC on the Termies, and running some Combi-weapons.
Deep striking 4 Termies with something like 2 Combi-melta, 2 Combi-plasma, and a Chainfist can be a good option.
Either that, or just keep it cheap and go with 3 Termies with 3 Combi-Melta.

I would consider dropping 3 Obliterators (run them as 3 units of 2), and try to get a 3rd troop choice in there. Either KB's or PM's.
There simply just isnt enough points for 9 Oblits in 1500. When you go up to 1750-1850, then you can think about running 9.
For the choice between KB or PM, its personal preference really.
KB are more killy in combat, where as PM are more survivable.
If you want to you can just go with a 3rd CSM squad identical to your other 2.

Regarding the Termies as anti-tank, i feel this role is better kept to your Oblits.
If it was me, i would go with something like this...

Chaos Lord
- Terminator Armour
- Daemon weapon
- Mark of Tzeentch

- Champ with Fist
- 2 Melta
- Rhino

The only trouble is that you have the Lord on foot. Regardless if he has a retinue or not, mobility is a serious issue.
If it was me, i would go with a Lord in Power Armour with dual Lightning Claws, and put him in one of the Rhino's.
If you want to stick with the Terminator Armour, then i would consider getting a Land Raider to transport him and his Terminator retinue.

Of course, the other option is dropping him for Kharn or a Daemon Prince which are undoubtedly better, but you said you wanted to stick to a casual list so keeping the Lord is still a viable option, providing he has adequate mobility and protection.
