Nice lists.
I like list 2 better, although i would make a small change...

Id drop a squad of Slugga Boyz to add another squad of 10 Lootas, and change your other unit of Slugga Boyz to Shoota Boyz. Use the 10 remaining points to give the unit 2 Big Shootas (basically a cookie-cutter of the other units).

I am always hesitant about dropping Boyz for non-scoring units, however you will still have 4 solid Troop choices, and i feel the extra Dakka will help a lot.

Play a few games and see how it goes. You might need the 5th unit of Boyz. Depends entirely on what your local metagame is like.

I would go with the 1st list, larger squads are usually better

maybe consider taking out the loota's for another B. Mek KFF, and the other B. shoota boyz your missing

I think with that many bodies on the table your loota's wont have much too shoot at, your boyz and Kans by turn 2 will be blocking almost all thier LoS

That is the other option, dropping the Lootas entirely and going for more Boyz.
However, i personally like the ability to soften up the enemy and destroy annoying transport vehicles. Yes, thats what the Kanz are for, but only 6 shots isnt exactly guaranteeing anything.

If you decide to go for the option of lots of Boyz, something like this would work well...

I had considered dropping the lootaz, but I need a little more dakka to soften up squads more (maybe a little rhino hunting).

As to KoC suggestions

It does look kinda scary indeed. and I am still putting 100 bodies on the table. I am just not sure it would have the same mental effect

Maybe drop 2 lootaz (so 2 groups of 9) and drop 2 big shootas in 1 squad, make a unit of 10 grotz.

I strongly feel 2 KFF's is the way to run the Kan Wall(and BW list as well)

for the loota's question i think its come down to where you play and the terrain available to you

if you have terrain to put the loota's in a higher elevation regularly than they could be useful
if you play on a flat surface most of the time they will not have good LOS with that many boyz advancing towards the enemy

not to hijack this thread but i have a question.

i like the look of this list but can you tell me why you'd have shoota over slugga as presumably your using the kan wall to protect the horde till it can munch people in assault so why would you not want the +1 attack?

I will be honest and say pandering to my audience.

I actually take 50/50 shoota/slugga in my army, the shootas stand in front and take most of the shots if the kanz fall, and make some shots of their own, which softens the enemy. Then I double charge with the shoota and slugga boyz. Sometimes I even run all slugga.

Here of Heresy people will advocate shoota boyz til they are blue in the face, so I always say shootas despite being of a different opinion. (unless they are in trukks of course)

I ask this because I have been running both at 1500 points for the past 3 weeks. I played 4 games of each.

The slugga boyz seemed to perform better as people were too busy shooting the kanz. The shoota boyz had a hard time seeing a target with the whole unit so they did not get as many shots off as they should have.

As the kicker though, I won 3 and lost 1 with both armies. I think I lost more boyz with the slugga boyz but killed more.

Objective based missions - Slugga boyz performed better

KP - about even
Now, this could be a style of play thing, or even opponents.

p.s. I am the maker of this thread and I approve of this hijacking
