1250 with militorum allies

This is mainly for criticism on the militorum side , so here goes

This is the first list with the new 'dex, so yeah...
It's a 1250 designed along side my BA, I'll out them in after this list, for referance
The purpose of the list is to whizz over my BAs heads, drop out and give 'em hell! Before either dying gloriously in the name of the emporer or maybe surging to capture objectives and a shameful return home- like wimpy death company

Lord commissar- plasma pistol
adds fire to his squad, shouts the precision fire one at them

Veterans- plasma pistol, x3 plasma guns, x6 shotguns, demolitions
hops out, volleys plasma and explosives into the enemy

Valkyrie- lascannon, rocket pods, heavy bolters
flies around, nuking the enemie, maybe pot shotting a tank (their rare around these parts)

castes prescience on his squad, not sure if he's needed though, too many eggs in one basket?

And their overlords, umm I mean allies...

Librarian- jump pack (would've liked mastery lvl2 but not the points

Sanguinary preist- jumppack, power sword (shame they FAQed this guy for only BAs eh?)

That leaves me 25pts spare, any ideas?

Yeah. That list.

Also, I didn't think lord Commisars had access to orders? Don't have the guard codex to check.

If you really want your guard to do what SM can do better than I'd go:

Lord Commisar OR naked CCS

Infantry platoon
PCS
Infantry squad x2

SWS who can have demo charges (up to 3)

Vendetta

That's a base cost of 390-395. This gives you 65-70 points to upgrade the squads as you see fit. Don't bother with plasma pistols. Stick the SWS into the vendetta, suicide strike it where you need with whatever you arm it with. Hold an objective or the back line with the 25-30 bodies with orders.

@NathanJD I actually prefer your suggestion. Gives me nostalgia about my 3rd-4th ed guard list with deep striking plasma/demo charge vet squads thanks to Doctrines!

I chose to work within the confines of his points and I don't know enough about BA to suggest where he could trim fat from the marines (however historically PF is rarely a good choice for single wound and very kill able models).

Could split the scions into 2x 5 with plasma and a HQ with 4 meltas (325) and a valk with MRP (145) and then you'd just need to find 10 points and you could twin link the meltas wth the command squads order from tempestus codex.

And I've toyed with the idea of a command squad, and the vets just seem like a better choice
And I chose The Lord commissar as it said the commissar/pysker/preists don't count as a FOC slot, so I can't take them as my 1 HQ

I'll defiantly look into the tempestus though!

Uh, Lasguns can fire just as many shots as shotguns at 12 inch range and 1 more shot at over 12 inch.

Lord Commissar cant give orders like a company command squad (HQ) and is 5 points more.

The tempestus scions and Hot shot Lasguns are still in the Astra Miliatrum codex for you to look at. Just not the Specific Orders/Warlord traits/formations.

And Arnt shotguns strength 4? So they have an easier time wounding, and I won't be firing much over 12" to worry about

Only space Marine shotguns are S4...

And the suggestions we are making mean the command squad being 5 won't matter. Cause you'll have an extra Valk or no need to mount them.

If you're asking for critique yet ignoring suggestions in the entirety why ask for it?

So far you've had several better suggestions to how to add an allied force of guard yet haven't really taken any of it on board.
