No, my space wolves are not friendly, they are big, grey, mean, hairy bastards who like to kill stuff, and that is precisely what this list is about. i will be playing some Friendly-but-slightly-competitive games on friday and i want this list to actually perform well like my other, higher points ones have. just thought i would throw this up here and see what you guys think.
HQ
Rune Priest: Jaws, Living Lightning, Chooser of the slain, WTN,
Wolf Tail talisman : 125

Wolf Priest: WTN, Wolf Tail Talisman, Meltabombs. 120

Elites
4x Wolf Guard: 4x Power Fists, 4x Combi-weapons(2 melta, 2 plasma):190

5x Wolf Scouts: Power Weapon, Heavy bolter, 1 meltabomb: 100pts

Troops
8x Grey Hunters: MotW, Wolf Standard, Power Weapon, Drop Pod: 195

8x Grey Hunters: MotW, Wolf Standard, Power Fist, Rhino: 205

Heavy Support
6x Long Fangs: 3x Missile Launchers, 2x Lascannon

6x Long Fangs: 3x Heavy Bolters, 2x Plasma Cannon

Total: 1250 points

any advice is much appreciated.

I would replace the wolf priest with a rune priest or drop it all together. Next I would make all of the combi-weapons meltas. Then I would remove the PF from the second GH squad and replace it with a PW. After that I would switch up the LF load out so the second squad would have only MLs. Give both LF squad a Las Plas razor. Just what I would do.

EDIT: I also wouldn't pod the GH squad.

EDIT:EDIT: Oh and drop the scouts.

Without making too many drastic to your list...I'd re-think the Scouts. If you aren't using their Behind Enemy Lines ability you aren't really taking advantage of their capabilities. Therefore I'd go with a meltagun, meltabombs (the whole squad has to take them, or none), etc. and attach a WG with Combi-Melta and MBs or maybe a fist.

It will still be "ok" at best, but better than using them for a heavy bolter. Also if you're going WG, add a 5th one so you can make him a Termie and give him a CML. He can go with a unit of Long Fangs :)

I'd agree that the Wolf Priest is superfluous, and he'd give you points to get the changes going. I also think that the Rune Priest would do better with Tempest's Wrath instead of Jaws, and that a Wolftooth Necklace isn't really needed with a WS5 character. But I guess it could come in handy against other characters.

i have used the wolf priest before when he is podded with grey hunters, and fearless and preferred enemy are great for holding down an objective. as for the scouts, i might just replace them with meltagun and 3 meltabombs, but i do need them as my premium close range tank hunters. the 2 lascannons with the fangs are there for land raider blowing up :D because a shit load of guys i play against play csm. the second long fang squad are for dealing with infantry, namely if i come up against nids or orks. i dont own the cyclone termie ATM, but i am going to take it in my next match and put him with the fangs. that fist in the GH when combined with another PF toting Wolf guard, that squad will be able to *relieve* enemy squads of the objective. i will be replacing those scouts however, i sort of overlooked them in my list

The ML team loadout chum advised would be better than current simply because you would get more bang for what you have. Plasma is great but ML are much better and are less $$$. If you need to deal with LR get some las plas razors on those LF. Scouts are easily dealt with and they are not going to destroy much so it would be best to spend the points somewhere else. Wolf priests arn't worth their points in most cases. A rune priests or another squad of GH would be a much better use of those points. A gh fists is a huge waist of points...... 25 points for 1 attack is retarded.

yeah, i will be swapping out that fist for a nice power weapon, i just had the fist in there for scare tactics  but i think i would rather have the 2nd attack. i had that squad kitted out before i decided to go with the wolf guard with power fists. the wolf priest is not going, because they are still good, even if rune priests are better, but i still like the wolf priest being podded with the GH onto objectives, it actually allowed me to snatch a couple of objectives in previous games, and the fearless is good for keeping them on the objective

I am not sure if a priest can take a twm, I don't use them, but if they can I would much rather stick him with a small group of PF wielding twc. Would give me the willies. Lol

edit: That scare tactic doesn't work on a person who knows WTF is going on. Lol

Wolf Priests cannot get TWM sadly.
Then I see no reason to take them to be honest. lol I also agree that that las are somewhat lacking in the anti-av14 department. I like to use some deep strike speeders with multi meltas to do that.

i used to be a big fan of wolf priest's but they let me down too often, with I4 they get taken out quick and sometimes before your unit can even make use of the fearless or PE. On paper he looks pretty cool but on the battle field he is too easily killed. sadly...

and i agree with everyone about the plasma cannon, 1 in 6 chance to take a wound and not shoot. then you can try to hit? no thanks, it can be great, but on a vehicle not so much on a fang.
