1000pts Tzeentchi Army

168pts - Daemon Prince w/ Stature, Flight, Aura, Mutation, Armor, Frag, Doombolt

416pts - Rubric Terminators (9) w/ Champion (Chainfist, Power Weapon, Winds of Chaos)

207pts - Flamers of Tzeentch (9)

207pts - Flamers of Tzeentch (9)

Total of 998pts, 28 Models, 41% Troop, 41% Elite, 16% HQ.

I have the Converted Daemon Prince ready for paint, and the bits needed for the rubric termies. I just need to get hold of 18 Flamers, which are now on order. The army is more for 'cool' factor than for competitive gaming, but I plan on fielding them, and may even enter tourney play when the list expands.

Thanks for the read.

Yeah, I know. I just really like the idea of the Rubric Termies, and the Daemons. For some reason, I just don't care much for power armor.

The 2000pt list would expand to include the units below...

Rubric Terminators (9) w/ Sorcerer
6 Screamers
6 Screamers
1 Defiler w/ MoT, Havoc ML
1 Defiler w/ MoT

Small but nasty, just like all Tzeentchian armies. The lack of more marines is a lil unsettling, but double-wounded terminators are a beast of a unit.

You'll have to play it smart, as you will be out-numbered 95% of the time.

I'm thinking than in a 2000pt match, the army will most likely get swamped, but there are a few things going for them.

Start of game, only the Daemon Prince and the two IF Defilers start on the table. The Prince uses cover to minimize line of sight while the Defilers light of the enemy's deployment zone. On turn two, I should have at least two units of Daemons, and one unit of Termies (more or less) landing within assault range of the enemy, thanks to Favored unit numbers and a teleport homer on the Prince, or at least within a respectable shooting range. The Daemons can then also move and assault along with the Prince, thus tying up the enemy firebase so that the Terminators can move in for the kill.

The second turn of the game should be deadly for any firepower heavy army. For mechanized armies, the ability of each of the flamer units to pump out up to 27 Str5 shots on the turn they're summoned just might do the trick against skimmer rear armor.

The Prince would do his best to keep away from opposing monstrous creatures and indy characters, letting the Rubric Termies with the hidden chainfists deal with them.

I'm expecting to have little opposition to the defilers from the majority of my opponents. The Daemons are expendible, and the Rubrics are just too hard for the enemy to reliably reduce to 4 models/unit. This should give me something to work with during missions that require scoring units to hold objectives.

The only army I really think may give me a difficult time is a Mechanized Eldar list.

I understand that in most cases, I'll be the underdog, but is there something I'm missing?

Mechanized anything is likely going to kill you, since your chain fisted termies will never catch anything that doesn't want to be caught.

Even a swarm army is just going to overwhelm you. You'll have an island of badasses surrounded in a sea of orks/nids, and will get wittled down do to the outnumbering factor.

Personally, if your going to expand to 2000pts... you need a SOLID core of troops.

Yeah i have to agree with the outnumbered portion, and as a daemon bomb army, yeah you can do it, but the problem is, flamers of teenzh put out alot of fire, but they wont stand to the inevitable counter attack, DP all alone is gonna be a prime target, and if hes your only anti IC/MC guy, expect him to fall fast, princes are tough yeah, but can still be brought down since he is only so durable, maybe drop the flamers for a pred and some power armored marines, thats just imo though
