Hey all. I'm trying to rekindle my Warhammer 40k playing by going back to my original army with the amazing new Blood Angels models. I recently bought the Codex and have looked at a few other lists, but I wanted to throw this up here and see what you guys thought.

HQ
130 - Reclusiarch

ELITES
95 - Sanguinary Priest - Lightning Claw, Jump Pack, Melta Bombs

TROOPS
235 - 10 man Tactical Squad - Plasma Gun, Plasma Cannon, Bolt Pistol & CCW (sergeant); in a Rhino

235 - 5 man Death Company - 2 Power Weapons; in a Razorback w/ Twin-linked Assault Cannons, Extra-Armor

155 - 5 man Assault Squad - Meltagun, Infernus Pistol, Power Fist, & Combat Shield (sergeant), Jump Packs

FAST ATTACK
150 - Baal Predator - Twin-linked Assault Cannons, 2 Heavy Bolters

1,000

My main thought on this is that the Reclusiarch goes with the Death Company and the Sanguinary Priest with the Assault Squad.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I agree with Blueberrypop on this. That DC is so overpriced as to be a joke. The only time BA should use upgraded Razorbacks is when you attach them to an RAS for the 35 point discount.

A 6 man VAS with Thunder Hammer and 2 Lightning Claws is only 5 points more expensive. And I'll take Heroic Intervention + Descent of Angels over something that relies on a 105 point AV11 tin can to get to the enemy every day of the week.

And lose the Combat Shield. Those 5 points are better spent giving someone Melta Bombs than on the false sense of security from a 6++ save.

Ok. Thanks for the thoughts. Is there any good time for the death company??

I truly love the fluff of them, and the mere thought of them (in 3rd and 4th edition) made my buddy squirm.

Perhaps downgrade the Reclusiarch to a Chaplain and turn the Sanguinary Priest into a captain or Librarian?

I am planning on creating the army as the Angels Encarmine and the grand vision of the army includes probably 2 units of Death Company and Astorath, as well as other stuff. About half the army on jump packs, other half mechanized.

I am very new to 5th edition and haven't played in about six years, so I could use all the help I can get.

Thanks again,

it seems that you would have trouble with tank assossiated armies like the imperial guard.
