So here is the deal. I've never tried to build a competitive list in my life, nor do I play blood angels. I'm trying to make a competitive or semi-competitive list for my friend whom ive introduced into the hobby and winning is somewhat more important for him then it is for me. I entreat the members of heresy for help in this endeavor.

Feel free to shred it, any help is immensely appreciated.

Blood Angels will most likely not be competitive at 1k, I suggest 1.5k minimum.

To improve this list I would;

- drop all flamers & replace with melta guns
- add power weapons & infernus pistols or power fists to the RAS
- get the honour guard as many melta guns as you can afford, at least 3-4. They don't need power weapons & the Librarian has his force weapon. Meltaguns will do way more damage to pretty much anything with a Descent of Angels alpha strike.

To do this I would look at dropping the Land speeders & with any points left possibly grab a second SHP with a jump pack so there is one for each squad & one in the honour guard, that should give you plenty of FNP/FC SHP coverage.

Good luck to your friend & tell him to remember that winning isn't as important as having fun :victory:

Then I've got 65 pts leftover to put...somewhere... I was thinking maybe footslog the Honor guard but give them a drop pod and use its beacon to ensure the other units deepstrike in place.

Why take a single drop pod when you have Descent of Angels? Especially in this list, run them with jump packs.

I would drop all 4 power weapons off the honour guard, that would give you 125 points, use this to grab a 5 man assault squad & give them a power weapon and a flamer, they can be your objective grabbers, a 3rd troop option is way more use at 1K IMO. :victory:
