Default Squig Chukka

After a quick brainstorm during a post in this thread, I came up with an idea for an orc & goblin contraption that launches giant squigs across the battlefield, and I wanted to flesh out the details.

The Squig Chukka fires like a cannon except that after determining the first bounce, the squig will continue to bounce in a random direction, causing general mayhem as it goes. Unlike a cannon, the squig will only damage units lying under any of its landing positions, dealing D3+1 S5 hits to the unit. If an squig passes over a unit between bounces, the unit is unaffected. The squig simply bounced too high.

After the first bounce, roll the artillery die and the scatter die. The squig will bounce an artillery dice worth of inches in the direction indicated on the scatter die (using the arrow on the hit symbol if a hit is rolled). The squig continues bouncing until it bounces off the board or a Misfire is rolled.

In leiu of the blackpowder misfire chart, use the chart below.

1-2: DESTROYED! The rig fails spectacularly and the squigs feast upon the goblin crew. The entire model is destroyed and removed as a casualty.
3-4: IT'S LOOSE! One of the squigs gets loose and runs amok before bouncing away to freedom. One of the crew suffers a wound with no armor saves allowed. The squig chukka may not fire this round.
5-6: WILY SQUIGS! The crew struggles to coax a squig into the launcher. The squig chukka may not fire this round.

While I haven't playtested anything like this, I'd guess the squig chukka would cost around 60 pts. It's better than a bolt thrower, but not quite as devastating as a rock lobba, and certainly lacks the monster felling capacity of a cannon. Some lucky rolling could see your squig take a significant bite out of your opponent, though.

Hmmm, I think it would remind me a little of that scene in thatshit prince caspian movie with the griffons carrying dwarves - similar to the Doom Diver, but putting a Squig in base contact with the enemy unit it hits.
