Default Themed forces - yes or no?

I run a tier 3 Gaspy3 themed list. It's not bad at what it does and the benefits are good, but are themed forces a must it do you feel they sometimes hinder too much?

Emperors Children - 2000pts
High Elves - 2000pts
Vampire Counts - 2000pts
40k Daemons - 1500pts

Hope is but the first step on the path to disappointment

I think there is only select theme lists that are good. For Menoth I would only consider a couple of them. They can be nice but I feel they were created more for the story aspect of each caster and less for thier rules.

That's a fair theory. I agree that only some are valid lists. Goreshade the Bastard, for example, has an excellent theme, whereas others not so much.
