Default Want to start Warmachine.

Hi I've been thinking of getting a warmachine army and so has my brother( he's pretty set on Khador) but I'm not sure which battlebox to get. In WH40k I mainly play Tau, Deamons and Ravenwing the common factor being maneuverability and packing a punch, which warmachine army would best reflect this or even horde army? Apart from Khador.
Thanks for any feedback or other advice on thhe best way to get started!

Cryx or legion. they are fast and can hit hard.

If you prefer more of a challenge go with Circle, they have a lot more movement tricks but don't have the survivability of the other factions, but when set up right they can wreak anything.

Eyes with out life.
Maggot ridden corpses.
Mountains of skulls.
These are some of my favorite things.

i believe legion or circle will give you more maneuverability. cryx is probably the fastest warmachine faction but doesn't have army wide pathfinding (no difficult terrain). as far as a horde army goes, there really isn't one. armies are pretty balanced between number of minis per side in most games. however, every army typically has a cheap (~6 points for 10 models) unit. using multiple of these units will get you to look more like a horde, but may or may not be that effective. these units are also typically limited field allowances. here is a rundown of general warmachine army traits:

Cygnar: best shooting army, still very good close combat units
Khador: slow high armor, hard to kill, high close combat damage output
Cryx: high def, low armor, fast, necromantic (multiple ways to keep bringing guys back to life)
Menoth: very synergistic, at first glance their jacks are not on par with Khador and Cygnar, but with their support units they become much better.
Retribution: jack of all trades master of none, they are decent at everything but not really great at anything.

my advice: pick the army you think looks cool. they are all playable, i've beaten them all, and been beaten by them all.

HAHA i just realized by horde you meant Hordes the game, not the ork like massive amounts of models! Duh. you'll find cryx fun, they have a lot of crazy tricks up their sleeve.

Cryx are a fantastic faction to field.

There are numerous ways to play them and they have some truly awesome abilities. Two flanking Pistol Wraiths and a mad over the top charge of Mechanithralls used to drive my regular opponents to distraction..

Add some unpredictable heavy Jacks and you have a potent, if slightly manic, faction

The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.

Best point right there, play what you like. That's the best part of the game.

Right now PP has a great sale going on with pretty decent 25 point lists, also includes the rulebook:
