Default Question about overrun

About a week ago, I played a game with my Ogre Kingdoms army against a High Elf army.
My mournfangs charged and wiped out a group of white lions. After, my opponent told me I had to take a leadership test in order for me not to make an overrun move. I thought this was strange, but he was pretty adamant about this. I failed and ran off the table.
Do you have to take a test in order not to make an overrun after you wipe a unit?

No problem, you did bring the Mournfang back onto the table though, right?

Its the biggest disadvantage to frenzy that you must overrun: it means you can shove a cheap, disposable unit in the way of a frenzied unit and align it to the way you want them to overrun... then they either sit there and do nothing or charge and kill your chaff and open up an easy flank charge (assuming you set something up to charge).
Its the reason I really don't like using frenzied troops (although about the only ones I have access to is my savage orcs... but I'll still only use them as strong flankers not mainline units).

Wiping out a unit rather then breaking it is a huge advantage as you can freely reform without potentially being drawn after them...

Frenzy baiting is still a vital move in any games, my 55pts Wolf Riders have won me more games than I care to remember by dying horrifically for my Big Uns to flank charge

Yeah same: I have larry and barry my twin solo trolls who walk either side of my big un unit with my general and BSB in... I played another orc player one tourny and they couldn't understand why. At least not until their savage big un deathstar got close and larry and barry conga'd at 45deg angles forcing the savages to give me their flank and allowing my unit to utterly smash a unit that was much much stronger on paper. Not bad for 70pts
