Default Allowable manouvres with Vanhel's Danse Macabre

Vanhel's Dance Macabre says "...if the target unit is unengaged it can make a move of up to 8" in the same way as a normal move made in the Remaining Moves sub-phase." I was understanding this as any manouvre that you can do in the remaining moves sub-phase you can do in the magic phase with Dance Macabre treating your movement as 8 except of course marching since the move is capped at 8".
In a battle I played with a friend yesterday he told me I can't do a Swift Reform. First he said because it is not a normal move, then he argued that because Swift Reform says "can attempt a swift reform.....by taking a Leadership test before it moves" I couldn't do it because my unit had already moved in the movement phase. I feel he is wrong but we couldn't find anything anywhere stating whether a Swift Reform is allowed or not. So I told him I would post it on a few forums and see what the common consensus is.

Initial reaction was normal move only means move but the old Danse was very clear that it included reform and wheeling. It is not entirely clear (probably needs an FAQ), but "normal" appears to mean any typical movement (including swift reform) that might be made in the remaining moves phase.

i'm inclined to agree with olderplayer.

can you do a swift reform during the remaining moves subphase? the answer is yes. i wouldn't see why you can't complete one with the spell. you'd just be limited to the shorter move distance you get with a normal swift reform.
