Default Kaleb Kreigstrum - Rebuilding the Drakwald Province

A small insight into my Empire General and the advances he is making in reinstating Drakwald as an Empire Province. What do you think?

As an orphan he was taken into the Chapel of Sigmar in Elsterweld in the Grand Duchy of Middenland, his faith in the glories of Sigmar was unbending anf from an early age he longed to protect the mighty empire to that he belonged.

His military prowess was proven one fateful day as his regiment of Swordsmen was ambushed as they patrolled the Old Forest Road in the Drakwald forest. Bandits and children of choas more beast than man erupted from the undergrowth quickly slaying the regiments commander with comtempuous ease.

Instantly Kaleb reacted bellowing orders to the men under his command to close ranks and link shields, the men of the empire deflected the blows of the monstrousities and swords licked out to severe arteries and tendons. When an armoured caravan guarded by a full regiment of halberdiers happened to pass they encountered a mass of bloodied bodies of mutated beasts of choas still threatening to overwhelm a scant few remainders of Kalebs regiment.

After the skirmish and having his wounds treated Kaleb was taken to see the Warrior Priests of Sigmar, his birth and rise to fame within the locality had not gone unnoticed and was gifted a mace of immense power (hammer of judgement) which his men named the Mace of the Righteous.

He was quickly elevated to a Captain of the empire and gifted a fine suit of plate armour to match his status.

While campaigning in the border princes he collapsed and when awoken several hours later was filled with resolve and an inner light, he proclaimed to his regiment and commenders that he had been visited by Sigmar and that he was instructed to return to his homeland and to re instate Drakwald to its former glory.

His arrival in his hometown of Elsterwald was casue for a carnival and soon work began on construction of barracks and lumber mills deep into the Drakwald forest, bands of Beastmen where hunted down by the Knightly Orders of the White Wolf and the Hunters of Sigmar and bandits were hired to protect the construction sites as mercenary fighters.

Within a year Elsterweld was a flourishing town the lumber mills operating six days a week and soon farmers and merchants were petitioning to buy land that had been cleared. With the farms producing a vast amount of surplus grain trade was quickly established with other towns and the provinces of Middenland and Nordland.

More and more bandits were hired to guard the grain caravans and the amount of attacks dropped significantly although there was still the grave threat of necromancy and Beastman attacks as well as Goblins and other dark threats contained within the great forest.

its not bad i like the idea but dont build too deep uless you acedenatly build on top of the valley of a thousand eyes then youll have a full fledged war on your hands

beacuase it is sacred to the night goblins and theres a huge poupuatio of arkanok spiders residing there

that's more or less the plan, myself and a few friends were trying to come up with some narrative for a mighty empires campaign and the armies are Empire, Orcs and Goblins (Spider Tribe) Beastmen and Warriors of Chaos so Drakwald seems the perfect place for me to forge a nice peaceful little place to call me own..in between battles
