Default Divine Avatars and Champions of Light

To my understanding there is many 'divine' avatars in warhammer background. For example We have:

Orion, King of the Woods - Avatar of the Elven god Kurnous.

Queen Ariel - Avatar of the Elven goddess Isha.

The Phoenix King - Avatar of the Elven god Asuryan, Emperor of the Heavens? (or do the protective wards and spells that protect the phoenix king as he walks through the sacred flames negate the phoenix king actually becoming an avatar of Asuryan?)

Valten - Avatar of Sigmar

Any others? and are these actually 'avatars' of gods?

I was also wondering on some vague bit of fluff i read on Champions of light and dark. It is said that every so often a champion of dark arises in the world and at the same time a champion of light arises to counter him and attempt to restore balance. The last case of this happening was Valten and Archaon. Is there any established information on this? can it be compared to the gods of 'light' Vs 'dark' - fighting through their avatars/champions? Was Sigmar such a champion? and what does he have to do with Valten and the other gods if Valten is the 'champion of light'??

Thanks!

CotE

I remember some fluff about cults in the empire in a WD a few years back. There was a group called the Champions of Light where some of the best fighters came together in a death-match and the winner would be the one to duel Archon. Corse Archon was killed before they finished dueling

Thanks Proccor for the awsum sig

After 10 years of relentless shelling, the hive is reduced to naught but rubble and dust, two years after all signs of life ceased and five years after the hive issued its unconditional surrender.

I dont want to hear any more flashlight joke alright, there just guide lights for the artilery
