Default New Beginner Games Spotted

GW has a stall at the New York Toy Fair, and two new boxed games have been revealed. One is an intro to 40k, and reminds me a bit of Space Crusade, the other appears to be a short form version of Blood Bowl.

Ive heard blabber about the labyrinth of the necrons game on B&C. The astartes from a load of different chapters. But the 'crons only seems to be represented by mere tokens. So it doesnt feel like that high production values have gone into it.

If you look at the picture you'll see necrons in it. Warriors, an immortal and a tomb guard or whatever they're called, and a lord. I assume the tokens thing is a similar mechanic to space hulk, in that the blips represent an unseen enemy, but you don't know exactly what it is until you have line of sight.

Looking at the picture, one Overlord, one Lychguard, 2 Immortals, and 4 Warriors... The interesting part is that while the Space Marines appear to come in rainbow-colored plastic, the Necrons seem to be the standard models with a quick Leadbelcher spray.

Which makes one wonder how they got to those numbers. The Warriors are 4 to a standard sprue (which has a lot of wasted space and also comes with Scarabs), the Overlord has his own, so those are easy. I'm... decidedly less clear from memory how they're going to pack in Immortals and Lychguard, don't think it can be done from a normal sprue (without enough leftover bits to build MORE).

Any more experienced Necron players that can figure it out?

Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers; all of which are true and horrifying to know.

These days it's easy to rearrange different minis on to new sprues. It's just a click of a mouse key. They did it with some of the Primaris marines from Dark Imperium, putting three of them on a separate sprue for the First Strike box.

Nice to see something without SMs in it.

I will be picking this up just to get my hands on the two baby knights. There's a chance of playing some Inqisitor 28mm using Necromunda as a base, the tech priest and skitarri might be useful if I go with an admech war band.
