Default The Hobbit Pre-orders 24/02/2013

Warriors of Erebor

The Garrison of Erebor consisted of a mighty throng of warriors - well trained and highly disciplined Dwarven fighters whose loyalty to their king was unflinching. Clad in fine Dwarf-wrought armour and wielding weapons that were the envy of Middle-earth, these sturdy soldiers were a match for almost any foe.

The Warriors of Erebor come in an array of dynamic poses, ranging from raising a shield from an attack above, or thrusting forward a long spear or sword. They carry studded octagonal shields and wear either chainmail or tunics; some wear armour across their shoulders, or masked helmets. Each of the twelve Dwarves features unique expressions, styles of hair or beards, making them a characterful addition to your collection of miniatures.

This plastic kit contains 30 components and twelve 25mm round bases with which to make twelve Warriors of Erebor.

Warriors of Dale

The wealth of Dale, City of Men, ensures its soldiers have quality armour and fine Dwarven weapons. When not protecting their homeland, these men can be seen on ships bound for distant wars.

The Warriors of Dale kit is made up of ten uniquely posed miniatures. Each one wears chainmail, thick tunics, sturdy boots and long flowing robes, and they also carry a range of weapons - bow, spear and sword - as well as a richly decorated shield. Particularly notable about these miniatures are their ornate fur-lined helmets that finish in a point.

This plastic kit contains 27 components and ten 25mm round bases with which to make ten Warriors of Dale.

Thror, The Last King Under the Mountain

Thror was the king of the Lonely Mountain at the height of its glory. Possessor of the Arkenstone and a ring of power, he was gold-hungry - a fact that bound him to his eventual fate. In spite of his failings, however, he was a powerful warrior and a goodly king, and as such his kinsmen followed him willingly into battle.

Thror shows all the regal qualities of a king in Citadel Finecast. He wears tunic, chainmail, serrated armour and carries a shield, all of which are sumptuously decorated, and come with a breathtaking level of detail. His beard displays braid-like ornamentation and a crown rests upon his head. Finally he is wrapped in a thick, fur cloak. Thror makes an exceptional addition to your miniatures collection.

This finely detailed resin kit comes in 3 components and with a 25mm round base with which to make Thror, The Last King Under the Mountain.

Grim Hammers Captain

The Captains of the Grim Hammers are chosen by their peers for their strength, courage and headstrong nature. In battle they can be counted upon to fight where the going is hardest, their mighty pick-hammers smashing shields and cracking skulls with brutal efficiency.

Though the Grim Hammers Captain is every bit as sturdy as the rest of his unit, he displays an extra level of refinement, all in the detail of Citadel Finecast. Most notable is his unarmoured face as well as his incredible body armour, which displays a variety of panel shapes and textures, which sits atop chainmail. With an axe fixed to his left hip, he carries a pick hammer in one hand whilst gesturing with his other, as if directing his Grim Hammers into the mle.

This finely detailed resin kit comes in 2 components and with a 25mm round base with which to make one Grim Hammers Captain.

Lindir

A steward in the house of Elrond, Lindir is an Elven noble, a skilled musician and a trusted advisor to the master of Rivendell. Lindir is a fine warrior, but his true value to Elrond is as a councillor.

This Citadel Finecast miniature of Lindir displays all the elegance of the Elves in crisp detail. He stands in a noble pose, with arm extended, his long cloak billowing behind. With his long hair worn in an elegant manner, his tunic is simple yet refined, and he wears long boots. Finally, a partially concealed sword is fixed to his waist.

This finely detailed resin kit comes in 1 component and with a 25mm round base with which to make Lindir of Rivendell.

Yet... they're also models that anyone that had read the books could have easily predicted.

Theres still a bunch of stuff on there that hasn't come to light yet. Sisters, Eldar, Orks, Marines, Some CSM units... Now until they start showing....

Well i think we are only weeks away from either eldar or tau if rumors are proved right so we might have a little more evidence, but anything they release i compare to the list to check for matches.

Thror looks great - quite like the Erebor dwarves as well, but some of them look a bit awkwardly posed - mostly the 2nd from the right in the bottom row. Strange considering they're multipart plastics and could presumably have been put together differently.
