Default Game of Thrones Franchise

Hey all,

I guess this would be the best place to mention this...

During a conversation with one of the GW fellas recently, there was mention that the people behind the GW group are now looking into taking on the "Game of Thrones" series after the licencing for the "Hobbit" runs out. Could be an interesting development if this does materialise!!!

Anyone else heard anything about this?

Sorry but this doesnt make any sense, licensing for the Hobbit has at least three more years to run but more likely 5, by which time game of thrones may have finished or have been cancelled, it also has nowhere near the appeal of the lord of the rings franchise. You dont do TV tie ins when the show is almost ended, if they wanted to do a tie in with game of thrones, now would be the time to do it.

Ever since GW picked up the licence for LOTR they have been rumoured to be "doing" loads of different tie ranges.

I think its wish listing.

And there are A Song of Ice and Fire miniatures already. Sure, they don't look like in series exactly, but it's same IP.

Bits pretty much covered all the points on why this is unbelieveable. GoT just doesn't have the wide appeal of LotR. As with the books, i'm already bored of the TV series... as are my friends who only discovered it through the TV series, already fed up with Martins killing a character every 5 minutes.

But yeah... Wrong time to do a tie in, especially with a TV show. Plus.. a boring one given pretty much every army would be exactly the same appart from the characters. The Lannisters etc would pretty much be your Space Marines, with only the Iron Islands etc having any kind of variation.

I can't see a GoT game being any different than the LOTR game.

Now, if GW did Star Wars that would be awesome. If they did a Star Trek ship battle game, then that would be awesome too.

I'll believe this when I see it, but it would definitely be interesting.

You should check out star fleet battles , one of the most complex wargames ever produced, played it alot back in the day.
