Default Digital Codex Question Answers

I know there was a thread about this somewhere but I digress...

I sent GW some questions about the digital codexes and how they will handle them, this is the answer I got.

Customers need to be aware that any notes left in their original version of the book will be lost when deleting and re purchasing the update.

However, if a newer version of a Codex is released we will not be offering this free of charge for customers who bought the previous edition. Just like buying a paper copy of the Codex, when a new version comesout you will need to buy it. Updates to that version will continue to be free, as above.

If you have any other questions on this, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Thats quite a long way of doing it. As far as I recall, PDF's can simply be updated.
But that may be restricted by several things in the custom coding so...

Anyhoo, its good to see some confirmation straight from the horses mouth so to speak.

The amount of skepticism people display for GW is shocking at times. It is no stretch to think a basic FAQ and errata would be provided for free for those who bought the digital codex. This is all info that goes up for download on their website - why would they charge for it on iBooks? It would be completely absurd.

So they are willing to release new versions of a codex with FAQ/errata changes so its up to date... and for free too.
Nah, my pencil and hard copy does me well enough... only thing that could even draw my interest in a digital copy would have been a rolling dex with permanent access to the newest dex for that army...

Well this is good news for the Ozzies as the Digital Codex is actually cheaper than the paper codex down there....

I checked out the sample SM iCodex and it was cool. It actually has all of the special rules the glossary and you can highlight a word and get more information. Still not gonna drop $41 on it. But, I'm considering the iBRB and getting the rulebook from the box set. I actually have a copy of every codex in PDF on my iPad which is great to read up on enemies. But I have a legit copy for every army I own and bring those with me everytime I play. I must admit that the iCodex is a great idea, a bit expensive but a great idea none the less.

Hehe, this guy is asking about why GWS customers expect to be faced with unreasonable fees. That's cute.
