Default Carrying Miniatures Using Magnets

As a gamer, you like to carry your whole army in an easy, aesthetic and "paint safe" way.

Besides, I use to drive by motorbike and we, bikers, are always annoyed to carry easily things.

For my salamander army, I created magnetized bases and store it in a metal box and I have my 2000 points army in a single backpack.

Here is what I used : strips of magnets I bought in a stationery. I had 10 strips of 30 cm x 2.5 cm for something like 8 euros.

The strips can be easily cut with a simple sharp knife and glued under the bases. Don't hesitate to put as magnet as possible under the bases to make them the stronger possible.

Now pick up a metalic box (I personnaly use an old ammunition box) and put heavy models at the back of it (for example your metal miniatures and vehicules).

Then store the rest of the miniature against the sides of the box.

Close the box, put it in a backpack, start your engine and drive to the battle ! Of course, you should adapt the box to your army but it's a good way of storage, simple and safe for your painting.

What is the most feared army by you ?
An easy question .... pokemons of course !

Very impressive! I wonder if you can get this stuff easily in the UK? The neodymium (if that is the correct alloy?) magnets cost a fortune here.

I don't think he's using Rare Earth magnets, squeek...though I could be wrong.

Thanks for the tut, surfer! I've been contemplating a method of storing my models in a .50 cal ammo box, and you've finally given me a reason to start snapping up as many as I can!

I used such magnetized strip :

I know it's a US site but you could easily find a dealer in UK for sure. Look for creative arts sites or furnitures for offices could work also.

@loyalist42 : my friend use 12.7mm caliber box to carry his khornate daemon army full of heavy metalic miniatures and it works well.

One of the local players here does this very same thing using rare earth magnets. All of his Fantasy armies are magnetized to be carried like this in a metal lined toolbox AND they are magnetized on the movement trays as well.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?
