Perhaps 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?'

Oh, and I'm definitely using this as a drinking game...I'm thinking pop in a copy of 'Glory' or 'Gods and Generals,' anything involving the Civil War, and start the flag-counting...

Exactly...oh, are we talking about American-made movies, or movies set in America? If the former, then my answer'll do...along with Once Upon A Time in Mexico, I think.

If not, how 'bout 'The New World?' It's set before there was a US, so no stars and stripes in sight...

Good call that man!

I think we'll have to exempt anything set before 1776, eh?

I can see Civil War films causing problems too, especially if this is a drinking game, especially especially if it's a drinking game involving a northerner and a southerner...

But son of Mortarion's right... "won't somebody think of the liver?"

I have noticed the flags in films, then again America is a country filled with patriots (and no im not sayinh every one is, but a lot are, especially where im living). And since 9/11 it has picked up considerably. Sure there were flags in movies before 9/11, particularily war movies and such (movies meant to stir patriotism) but after 9/11 flags were seen everywhere, in everything...It kind of irritates me cos i pick up on it and it interrupts my movie watching. Another annoying thing is that the english are always portrayed as the bad guys (especially by Mel Gibson)!

Ironically enough, there is currently an advert at the bottom of the page to order flags and bunting...

Flags everywhere here. Depending where you are, you'll see the Northern Ireland flag, Union Jack or a tricolour. Of course, that's more to do with the Catholics and Protestants trying to piss each other off, rather than any real concept of patriotism....

Incidentally, last night I watched the best film to outline the idiocy of so-called "patriotism"; Team America: World Police. It's one thing to be proud of your country, but a totally different thing to put down others (especially when ignorant of them).

I too think I'll be keeping an eye out for flags in films now, whether I want to or not
