I enjoyed it overall. However, the moment where Spock yells KHAAAANNNNNNN! didn't feel quite what it should have been. In WoK when Kirk saw his dead best friend, they'd both been working together for years and years. This Kirk and Spock just didn't have that much time together, so the emotions were a bit forced I think. Also, the bit with the tribble was cringefully obvious with its foreshadowing.

Finished: Too Much Love Will Kill You (working title), an original fiction novel. Working on: Second draft of Too Much Love, and the first draft of A Winter's Tale (working title).

I found it a ok film I thought it was a bit too Hollywood cornyness for my liking. If JJ Abrams makes Star Wars horrible I will not be happy.

Sanity is for the weak

It was awesome, but really dark and violent (that's a good thing). It was almost too tense throughout the whole ending part - I kept expecting it to end, but it just kept going.

If JJ Abrams makes SW bad, I will still have my other movies and different series of clone wars.

On the bright side, he can't really do worse than Caravan of Courage. :D

On the brighter side, if he DOES get it wrong, he will be known as "Jar Jar" Abrams. :D

Hey! Where'd ... Everybody ... go?

I found that Into Darkness was not really a remake of wrath of khan.

More a redone "space seed" (the TOS episode that first introduced Khan and his followers).

Still not a good movie - and the spock doing the "Khaaaan!" thing didn't make a lot of sense - in TWOK, spock and kirk had been working together for a crap of a long time. Decades.
In ST:ID, they'd been together for a couple of missions. Maybe a couple of years.
Enough to have a grudging respect for someone, but not enough to develop the level of friendship that would inspire/provoke that level of response from a vulcan.

Hey! Where'd ... Everybody ... go?
