Default Anime Watchers?

So i've noticed that throughout my time on Heresy, I cannot remember seeing any posts about anime of any kind? which is the complete opposite of another forum I go on (The Escapist), where there is at least 1 thread on it every few days. Since finishing school and waiting for work to re-open, I've had a lot of free time and have been watching a lot of anime. I finished Soul Eater not long ago and have been steadily working my way through Death Note, after that I've got Trigun and Hellsing to watch.

So are there many anime watchers here? Which ones are your favorite? etc. etc.

Ive been watching Dragonball since I was 9 or 10 but Ive been watching Naruto and Bleach for a few years now, I got bored of One Piece but really enjoyed Rave Master.
Favorite? Naruto without a question or as I prefer to call it 'The Kakashi and Itachi show'

I prefer mangas but there are a few animes that I do enjoy. Chief of them all is Hellsing Ultimate. Abso-bloody-lutely love that one. Best anime ever, both for story and for production.

LotN - The Kabal of Shattered Souls Project Log - Check out Talk Wargaming for reviews by Lord of the Night.

More of an old school anime fan, although Bleach and Naruto are pretty good (when they are doing the manga storylines and not filler). I'm also not a huge fan of all the harem shows that just seem to keep appearing.

Here are a few recommendations that span a number of genres and styles:

Captain Harlock (see my avatar)
Space Battleship Yamato
The Five Star Stories
Grave of the Fireflies
Anything by Miyazaki (Nausicaa, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, etc)
Ranma 1/2
Gundam 0080: War in a Pocket
Ouran Host Club
Jellyfish Princess
Maison Ikkoku
Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still
Ruroni Kenshin
Ninja Scroll
Fist of the North Star
Venus Wars

That's just off the top of my head.

Servants of the Laughing God (Harlequin Themed Eldar Army)
First Eastern Mirage Corps (C:SM)
I am the Evil Project Log (All my work since restarting the hobby)
The Crusade of Morr (WFB Empire Battle Reports)
Dem Bones (Dice Rolling Program)

Like iamtheeviltwin I'm more of an old school Anime Fan. I would share most of his recommendations for any new Anime fan to watch. I would also throw in a few more:

The Wings of Hamonese
Macross (Robotech)
Gundam (Movie trilogy), 0083, Zeta, Chars Counter Attack
Record of Lodoss War
Samurai 7
Hajime No Ippo (Fighting Spirit in the west)
Dominion Tank Police
Ghost in the Shell
Galaxy Train 999
Beet the Vandal Buster

To name a few.

On a personal note I think Naruto and Bleach are shows/manga that had a TON of promise but instead evolved (maybe de-evolved) in the shit shows they are now.

Not a huge fan, was rather picky about watching, but some I could definitely recommend:

Ghost in A Shell S.A.C - my favourite, really great series, with a lot of themes, it's better than the movies
Cowboy Bebop- Great mix of noir movies and SF. Some nice soundtrack, a must see
Berserk- I don't believe there is any anime watcher who hasn't seen this

I've watched a few others which I don't like that much but are still good, like both Helsing series and Shigoroui.

I detest ones with hundreds of episodes and supermegapowered ninjas/dudes with superpowers fighting and fighting....

Next one i should pick is probably Ergo Proxy. Heard great things about that one.
