I would say dump the speeders and go for wolf guards in each GH rhino. You could get cyclones in each of your long fangs if you did that too. Speeders are nice and all but they are just too easy to kill, that and having them as groups like that you risk losing the whole group to a immobilize damage roll. You lose a lot of shots yes but it is much more durable use of the points.

Thanks for the reply!

Im thinking along the same lines for the speeders, I just have too many! As far as the wolf guard, I think i will add another fist, and another clone for the group, drop a hunter for space for the priest. My biggest fears right now are the lack of imediate AP 1or 2 fire and torrent fire. I know 5 hunter squads should really be enough! But I will be honest, I would love some heavy bolters in some fashion. 21 missiles are sweet but if 15 doesnt cut it, somethings really wrong! Unless I can find another fast attack unit, I will probibly just run the typhoons as single units, in he backfielt, behind the razorbacks for a cover save. Would something like this be plausable?

Rune priest with CotS 110

Wolf guard (5) with power fist (5) and combi melta (5) 215
Wolf guard (5) with combi melta (5) and a drop pod 150

Plan A: Rhino Rush covered by typhoons, lasbacks, and long fangs. 2 melta-guard squads pod in and kill threats
Plan B: If Plan A doesnt look like it will work, improvise.

For 150 points of dp melta you might be better off with a couple of dp dreads? Or for more dakka 2 rifleman dreads and then make a couple of those speeders suicide meltas?

I am still new to this so I am not 100% and I have only been doing SW for a few weeks now. Pretty sure you commented on the 1850 list I posted, I have played a 1650 and 1250 version of that list and it worked really well. I lost both games by doing stupid moves mid game (shooting a unit when I should have popped a transport, ect ect). My plans to take that 1850 list further is to shoehorn another RP and Cyclone into the 3rd LF unit then bump up the troops and add some fast attack. If you spread the long fangs out a bit you can have the whole board covered by heavy weapons and as far as I am concerned with the lists I see, rune priest's runic weapon nullification zones.

I think your right, I could lose the melta pods, add in some rifelman dreads, and still have points left over for something more. Hell, worst case I could split one hunter squad into a pair of 5 man teams with more lasbacks to sit on objectives and give me more ap2 fire. I think your idea would work best though

If you are looking for a massive amounts of firepower, I would suggest a razorback spam list.

The basic razor spam will with have 9 lascannons and 15 missile launcher, and then you can spice it to your own flavor from there.
