What do you guys think? the reason I (stupidly) have two plasma pistols on my sergeant is that it goes with my fluff, and I really like the model. So there it is. I want to run this list against all comers, viable? or no?

In an objective mission I will combat squad to take objectives. The pyschic powers are pretty self explanatory I think, Null zone to make my Plasma cannons that much more effective against TH/SS termies and other Invul saving threats. And the avenger for when scary things get too close.

Viable? Probably not. You dont have much maneuverability which means that trying to get to enemy objectives will be difficult if not impossible. All he has to do is hold his and then contest yours = Game Over.
I need to know how you plan to run this to offer up other advice. Will the Terminators DS in? Will the Devs be combat squaded?

Im going to combat squad the Devs, The termies I will probably have footslogging. The Librarian will go with one of the tactical squads.

Give the Termies the Missile launchers that they can carry. And you need more high Av.

take Cyclone missile launchers over assualt cannons? Are you sure thats a wise idea?

And more High AV? what do you have in mind?

I'd look at getting rhino's for your Tac squads and dropping the Termi's altogether and using the extra points to get the aformentioned Rhino's, maybe a heavier tank (Vindicator will tear some stuff up, or a Whirlwind against light infantry) and use the remaining points on some vanguard, or another Dread and another Tac squad

Im no expert at Warhammer, but I think I could help you out a little bit, until some of the other more experianced marine players come along

Librarians are good, I would drop Avenger and take Gate of Infinity since your footslogging. I see why you would take it, Str 5 AP3 is good yes, but to capture objectives you really need a squad that can move.

I personally am not a fan of large groups of terminators, Split them into two squads, not the combat squad way, I mean list them as two squads so you can deepstrike them both in at seperate locations, this will spread those +2/+5 saves onto some midfield and opponent objectives

Dreadnought w/ Multimelta 105pts.

Try and squeeze in a droppod for this guy. He isnt a rifleman so he will probably be popped before he gets into CC. Eather turn him into a Rifleman or give him a Drop pod or get rid of him all together and get some razorbacks for your squads, or more upgrades (maybe Epistolary for your Librarian)

Plasma Cannon
180pts.

I personally like plasma. if you can give them a Rhino or a Razorback they will be even better. If you prefer to footslog leave them the way they are, but the Plasma cannons have a shorter range than some of the other heavy weaponry, so you might not get to shoot them for a turn or two if your footslogging, and thats 1-2 turns that your enemy gets to march his big nasties up in your face.

200pts.

Same as above, also, i didnt think it was legal to give him two plasma pistols?

Devies, another one of my favorite units. I prefer to make them an all-or-nothing deal, so all Missiles or all Lascannons, But two and two might work.

I dropped the Dreadnought and added in a predator. for 5 more points you get more shots and stronger armor. I know you said infantry, but having a tank in there isnt all bad. And between the Termies and the tank, your opponent should haveto make some decisions.

Hmm, that list looks solid, thanks a lot Azeek! And under the sergeant options it says may exchange bolt pistol and or boltgun for the following etc. etc. So I am changing my bolt pistol AND my boltgun for dual plasma pistols.

But I like that list, I think that is what I'll run. thanks a lot +rep!

Alrighty then. Since you will be taking the extra Plasma pistol i recommend removing one of the Autocannons from the Termies and giving your sergeant the PP and then giving all the sergeants Meltabombs instead of jsut the one.
