You should love your vindicator and the predator to give them names too

My very first army was the Templars, so I totally get where you're coming from...

I'm assuming that since you've posted it up here, you're looking for some sort of critique... From a competative standpoint having 1K in two Raiders with your troops is awefully dangerous... a bad first turn could spell "game over" for you. You may want to rethink the two LR bit....

Well the bad first turn thing does seem dangerous, since I would be deep striking my Land Speeders. This is just my first list right now, I am sure I will make more, this is more...hey lets get in their face and ground-pound it.

I do need to rethink it however, I realize that now. Believe it or not I was going to try and get 3 of those forces. I play chaos and such large numers are new to me O_O.

Here's another option... which gives a lot more firepower and still puts out lots of troops...

Emperor's Champion - Accept any Challenge
5 x 5 Crusader (PF, Melta, frag grenades) with 3 Neophytes in Rhinos
3 x Pred Destructors with Las sponsons
3 x Dreads with TL Las
2 x Land Speeders with MM / HF

Also, here's a couple of modeling ideas for the Neos....

If you plan to use shotguns...

Or bolt pistol and chainsword

I hate face as a rule of thumb. Not that I cannot paint them, just hate them. I ove helmets. So the second appeals to me more lol. However, with your list seems more of a small man fighter squads. I was thinking of doing 1 LR with our awesome ones, the Assault Termies, with Lightning Claws. Then a few rhinos and razorbacks with preds to hurt the opponent.

The issue you find with the BT codex (as compared to the Space Wolf Codex) is that everything is more expensive... You really pay out the ass for the AACNMTO special rule and everything is pretty overcosted (cept you get Las Dreads pretty cheap) But once you have a 450 point unit on the board (like termies with LCs in a raider) you start getting really tight on choices... were I to go that route, I would go with 5 man squads in TL Las razorbacks plus dreads plus preds.... but realize you get really tight on points pretty quick and I don't think you can build a viable list without making some sacrafices.

Agreed. Black Templars are better for larger point games like 3000+. then again, everything, becomes more of a viable option then. The thing I want is like a Black Tide type list. I like the idea of Hand to Hand combat warriors just unleashing the beast on an opponent. So I tried to get my list more or less to look like that. I am better with making lists for Chaos. Then again I did just start this army so, I have lots to learn.

I see something other than the Dreads. I see the Chaplins. those guys are hand to hand beasts unlike other SM Chaplins. Still, I udnerstand your point, and with any list you really have to make a sacrifice regardless. I mean power, speed, or suriviablity?

Still I do tank you for your imput it gave me a lot to think about.

well i don't think you need all three Hq's. I recommend dropping the Reclusiarch. Black templars have fearless in cc and will more then likely have leadership 10, and the entire army has preferred enemy. so he is kind of redundant.

The dreads are there to knock down tanks... One of the things in 5th edition that you need to be able to do is to suppress your opponent's vehicles. I think you need 8-9 things at 2K to keep you competative vs the other lists (who honestly do it cheaper)

For running a tide game, you still need to be able to drop some tanks... so that's where you get the tradeoff... troop or anti-tank... And there is a balance that you'll have to find...
