500 pt Death Company list

Hi all, this is my list, any help appreciated.

Reclusiarch w/ jump pack, bolt pistol

5 Death Company w/ jump packs, 2 boltguns, 3 bolt pistol/chainsword

4 scouts, 1 sergeant w/ snipers

Whirlwind

The Reclusiarch will join the Death Company and go after the enemy HQ, the snipers will sit on a home objective and snipe monstrous creatures or thin down big units, while the Whirlwind pummels anyone in cover.

So what are your thoughts? Any other tactics I could use? Any weaknesses I've overlooked? All help wanted.

The problem you'll have with the death co, is that they move via Rage universal rule... and they are not a scoring unit...

try to swap them out for a regular assault squad

Indeed. Give us a little more info about the scenario you will be playing. Is this for standard missions? competitive or fun?

If you want DC then I recommend playing at >500 points. Should be fun though!

I agree with the above posts, you playing kill points or objectives? Things along those lines would really help you get some feedback. I would switch the DC for Assault marines and still have the Rec join. And for 500 points is a whirlwind really needed? For those points i believe you could add another assault squad and maybe get some meltas in there just in case your opponent takes vehicles.

1000 Points Imperial Guard

Well, this is meant to be a fun list, and DC look epic, so I wanted to try them out. As for the missions, again, this list is for fun, so my only real aim for this list is for it to have DC in it (along with a Reclusiarch, because he makes them so much better). I have taken off the Whirlwind and changed a few other things so I have:

Reclusiarch w/ melta bombs

5x DC +Razorback w/ TL lascannon

1 sergeant, 4 scouts w/ snipers

1 sergeant, 4 assault marines

The Reclusiarch and DC will go in the Razorback and travel along 1 flank, the scouts are same as before and the assault squad is there to help capture enemy objectives. The Reclusiarch has the melta bombs because other wise it would be too easy to plonk some walker in front of me and let the DC batter ineffectually at it, and the TL lascannon is there to either help the scouts pick off monstrous creatures or kill the enemies long-ranged weaponry. So what do you think of this list? Any other thoughts? Also, how do you think I can get the points to get a power weapon on the assault sergeant?

At 500 points I'd run this (if allowed).

Rec
- Jump Pack
- Melta Bombs

4 DC
- Jump Packs
- Power Fist
- Power Weapon

DC Dread
- Drop Pod
- Blood Talons

You would need to lose the Drop Pod for a 5th DC guy to allow the Dreadnought, but otherwise fine, and hilarious.

Your second list is much better, with razor you can control DC...

and now you have enough troops to take and hold objectives...

After juggling some points around I got this:

Reclusiarch w/ Jump Pack, melta bombs

4x DC w/ jump packs

4 scouts, 1 sergeant w/ snipers, ML

1 sergeant, 4 assault marines w/ 1 power weapon

Now, I've got a power weapon on the assault squad, so they are able to deal with MEQ more easily, and the scouts have a ML to help deal with vehicles from a long range. With the DC+Reclusiarch the tactics are pretty much the same, with the assault squad supporting and going after any stragglers. Thanks for your thoughts guys, it's been very helpful.
