Default 1000pt teams list

Ok, I am going to a team tournament in January. Both me and my teammate are playing SM, and I am making both of our lists. So what do you think?

1st list.

HQ
Librarian w/null zone and avenger-100pts

TROOPS
10 man Tactical w/ML, FL, CF, and Razor w/assault-cannons-255
10 man Tactical w/ML, FL, CF, and Razor w/assault-cannons-255

FAST ATTACK
Land Speeder w/MM-60
Land Speeder w/MM-60
Land Speeder w/MM and HF-70

HEAVY SUPPORT
Thunderfire Cannon-100
Thunderfire Cannon-100

2nd list.

HQ
Librarian w/null zone and avenger-100

TROOPS
10 man Tactical w/ML, FL, CF, MB, and Razor w/assault-cannons-255
6 scouts w/sniper rifles, ML, Telion- 138

ELITES
Dreadnought w/2 twin-linked auto-cannons-125
Dreadnought w/2 twin-linked auto-cannons-125
Dreadnought w/2 twin-linked auto-cannons-125

HEAVY SUPPORT
Auto-las Pred-125

Tactics are to establish a fire base with the thunderfires, scouts, and Dreads. The tacs go and take the objectives after they combat squad and leaving the ML at the home base. The LS rush and trash the biggest tanks.

One good thing to do is to focus one teammate for combat, and the other for ranged.

Both lists look ranged orientated to me, which makes me think you will struggle against come armies and situations.

1000 points though is quite hard to fit decent CC units in though.

Nice, maybe swap avenger or null zone for gate of infinity.

TROOPS
10 man Tactical w/ML, FL, CF, and Razor w/assault-cannons-255
10 man Tactical w/ML, FL, CF, and Razor w/assault-cannons-255

I would give one of the Razorbacks a TL LC, maybe dropping the Combi-weapons if you need the points. I'd swap one of the flamers for a MG as well.

FAST ATTACK
Land Speeder w/MM-60
Land Speeder w/MM-60
Land Speeder w/MM and HF-70

You like land speeders don't you They are good though. No changes here unless you can fit in HF for the other two speeders.

HEAVY SUPPORT
Thunderfire Cannon-100
Thunderfire Cannon-100

I think Vindicators or Predators would work better here. One predator with HB sponsoons and storm bolter with another predator with LC sponsoons could be quite interesting, with quite a lot of range to go.

2nd list.

HQ
Librarian w/null zone and avenger-100

Same as above, but if you were going to make the second list more combat-orientated maybe swap with a chaplain. Depends on the other units you take.

TROOPS
10 man Tactical w/ML, FL, CF, MB, and Razor w/assault-cannons-255
6 scouts w/sniper rifles, ML, Telion- 138

Looks pretty good, maybe make both units scout squads, have them sit on objectives and free up the points for combat units?

ELITES
Dreadnought w/2 twin-linked auto-cannons-125
Dreadnought w/2 twin-linked auto-cannons-125
Dreadnought w/2 twin-linked auto-cannons-125

Try swapping one dread for a sternguard squad with a razorback.

HEAVY SUPPORT
Auto-las Pred-125

Not sure...I'm not amazing at doubles lists, but maybe you drop the heavy support and go for a fast attack option instead...have the first list more heavy support and the second list attack.

Tactics are to establish a fire base with the thunderfires, scouts, and Dreads. The tacs go and take the objectives after they combat squad and leaving the ML at the home base. The LS rush and trash the biggest tanks.
You could put the dreadnoughts and sternguard into the first list, with the predators or vindicators, making it a specific long-range list. And the second list can have the speeders and close-combat units. I wanna say assault terminators in land raiders, but they are too expensive.

On the other hand, two lists tailored for long-range could wipe out the enemy before they get in range for close combat...

i would reccomend dropping the combi weapons in the first list and putting HF on the other two land speeders.

change the flamer in the tac squad in list two to a meltagun, and change the weapon to either Las/Plas or TLLC...each of these will help you deal with transports as you move across the table.

I played a similar teams set up in June and took first, and both were tailored were firepower. And I want both librarians because there a lot of chaos daemons being played at the moment so I want null zone. And I just got tabled with vindicators, so I'm hesitant to take them again. Though I might swap the predator for one.

But should I swap the Razorback turrets for something else? I had assault cannons for MEC infantry and MC

You're taking three razorbacks, so why not jsut take one with TLAC, one with TLLC, and one with LC/Plas?

And never decide to not take such a powerful unit such as a vindicator because it didn't work once. All units have weaknesses, The vindicators is range; you can negate this fairly easily. Did you use smoke launchers?

I ran dual vindicators against chaos daemons a few weaks ago; they obliterated most. I lost one Vindicator, and the other got immobilised; but each took out at least 1 and a half units of models each.

I think you are better off with Las/Plas razors. They give you range and an additional weapon. They are better for burning down MEQ and TEQ than AC are. Your combi weapon should be the opposite of your assault weapon in your squads.

First list I'm not liking the heavy support. I'd go for predators instead.
Second list I'm not liking the single vindicator. They should ideally be run in pairs.
